    This saturday I was at one of the bajaj service center, and noticed a brand new franchise opened up for KTM and Kawasaki. Speaking with the owner ( and a li'l bit eavesdropping :P ) i found that the dealer conf is around the corner and the launch of KTM RC series is imminent. Sep '14 is the month to look out for. RC 390 will be near about 2.5L . And to be frank, if anybody is to visit the chakan - narayangaon area (pune) , you will be able to spot a KTM in the open every hour or so.

    Though nothing in black and white, but i do trust the owner of the franchise.

    Thanks for the kidney, a little expensive though, but it works, dropped my plans for the 390 now saving for my bus fare!

    Got tired of waiting for this bike to launch. Finally sold off that spare kidney and got a Ninja 650...

    Also I come from the super reliable karizma r and so the reliability was an issue in my mind.

    Hmmm....i don't Mind hard seats, or lack of bar end weights. These are not issues. Issue is broken rims, oil leaks, electrical problems, clutch plates not lasting 20k, chain sprocket life of may be a hayabusa, electrical issues, paint chipping from rear shock(nitpicking may be, but I havent seen it on any other bike), general age related niggles surfacing much earlier in less than 50 k/2 years. These are issues. These would most definitely still be there. So I'd at least wait for the first few batches to sell and then may be I'd start listening to the heart and not the mind😉
    Or may be triumph do us a favour and bring prices down

    +1 to that!
    However, going through the D390 thread, I've observed that Bajaj IS trying to iron out the issues eg. Softer seats, improved bar end weights, front sprocket replacement et. all.

    That said, if I do decide to buy this bike, I wouldn't pre book the way I did before R15 was launched!

    Rightly said. But that bike seemed pretty fast.
    As much as I am excited for the launch of this bike, the numerous problems of duke 390 is making me nervous. What if its straight out of the showroom and into the service room? That would be heart breaking. I really hope that KTM put geniune effort to curb the unnecessary hiccups faced by new owners.
    If there is any KTM people here, " KTM please we do love your bike but we WON'T buy it if there are lots of quality issues." We got decent options these days afterall.

    How can we say that its faster than 200, slower than 200....when these aren't in the market...I guess acceleration can be measured when we will be riding the both bikes.

    I don't think that's the 200. Has to be the 390. The 200 won't have this loud an exhaust note. Also the acceleration is 390 ish. Remember, it always feel faster when you ride the bike rather than seeing someone else ride past.

    Just a thought.. It looks like the RC200 to me... acceleration on the 390 is much better than that if I am correct.. the exhaust note isn't that great.. at the same time, can't comment on before listening to it in flesh.. Thanks for the share
