damn, the single cyl 200 puts out 25HP at 10000 with a wet weight about 9-10kgs more than the R15v2 !! this one's gonna rip...considering that, i am wondering why the single cyl 390 gives "only" (:P) 43HP at 9000 and not about 47/48 HP :P oh right, it weighs about 10kgs more than the 200...
either way, with a wet weight of about 156-158 kgs, the RC390 has the kind of weight that was more or less expected of it...would have been even more kickass (power-wise) if it was a twin cyl churning out over 50HP or so :-D
i just hope it reviews great over the years..all eyes and ears on reviews of its actual performance/handling and reliability/durability over rough (as in frequent ripping) usage..gotta be like the R15v2 at that, if not better.

The RC is every bit a sportsbike! Big bikes have this big block of engine between your legs. This doesn't! It's light and agile. It changes direction quickly.The gearing on this particular bike was shorter. You have to rev it hard to get a punch. Just like a race bike where everything happens in the high revs. The position from torso to handlebars is 100% supersports. Shorter riders might find this bike a little inconvenient. Seat height is definitely high. It is quite narrower than R15. But taller and longer than it. There are 3-4 different configurations of this bike being tested. Don't know which one was on that bike. I was thinking of this bike as my daily commuter. But the power is too low for me[RC 200]. Maybe that's because I ride a Z800
Don't know yet, might buy it next year. Lets wait for the quality reports.
But for the people who are wanting a supersports, just go for it! It is definitely a level up on R15 and much racier than CBR 250.

Yesterday spoke with begumpet(hyd) ktm pro biking show room, as per the manager KTM RC 200, RC 390 going to be launch on 9th September , booking going to start at 10th September and got no idea of delivery date and he was expecting the delivery in new year not happy with this delivery news

ABS as standard, so the price will be in the region of Rs 1.80 lakh (on road, Pune). We are yet to confirm if ABS is optional.
The RC 390 brings the larger 373.2cc four-valve single-cylinder motor with 43.5 PS at 9,000 RPM with 35 Nm coming in at 7,000 RPM. The 390 will weigh just 147 kg dry. With standard ABS, the RC 390 should retail for about Rs 2.30 lakh.

The Cochin KTM Showroom guys said the RC's were coming in Oct end this year, but they have started taking bookings (Rs.10,000/-) in the name of Duke which can later be changed to RC. No clue about the final price though.Leave a comment:
