BTW, all these are what I've read and heard from owners and experts. I have zero first hand experience with superbikes
Is the 300 a good stepping stone before graduating to a ZX10R mainly because it'll be a cheaper option or will I outgrow it really quickly?

Actually, for most of us, The Ninja 300 is at the top of the bike-chain (as in food chain).
And on our Indian roads, i don't think you would outgrow the Ninja.
and if you have the bank balance, use the Ninja for a few years till you get a proper foot hold in biking, then you can freely get a biggie.

      Ride safe and have fun.

If you're looking at ZX6R, you should look at Daytona as well. IMO, it'd be more practical than a liter class and you may never feel like upgrading at all.

relatively its hard to outgrow any ninja for that matter.
AFAIK the current zx10R is ironically very compact and novice friendly at moderate speeds. But then its mostly meant for serious riding than leisure.zx10r comes with a 3 stage ktrc traction control and abs whereas india bound 300 has none of these and is obviously much simpler to ride. The point is about how much one requires these riding aids and more importantly that absolute brutal power from the high revving inline 4.as for a stepping stone the 650 or even the upcoming z1000 will suit the upgradation better capacity-wise.

N650(D675 if money is not a constraint) will be a better stepping stone to liter class and you'll have something to look forward to in the future. However, it is not a necessity as I have read/heard about some guys who have upgraded directly from Pulsars to R1(No ABS)/fireblade etc and have done pretty well by taking things easliy. The traction control and ABS on the 10R will protect you from wheel spins and locks to an extent.

See mate, the thing that matters is Money. If you have it, then go for what you want.
I have read many experiences on xbhp only about members bying a litre class directly for 150cc. So nothing to worry.
If you think you can control your nerves, then buy what ever you want.

Any news or updates about the Z1000 and the ZX10R getting discounts like Kawasaki did with the Z800? And can't I arrange my own insurance rather than availing that by the dealership? I was told if I don't get the insurance done from the dealer, I won't be given a bike. LOL, I got my Verna's insurance done myself instead of the Hyundai dealer.
