So true ... coz while a 250 cc 30 bhp bike is low end/entry level in the west, its pretty much the king of the hill in India !!

Most of it has to do with the mind set also, other than initial cost and mileage like somehow some pple here also think it needs some superhuman skills to manage these bikes, (I mean ofcourse it takes experience and exposure to handle big bikes definitely), but we dont really need to be a body builer to manage a Goldwing, just subtle balance !!
I know pple (at least one of them 6' tall) hu took a Fiero F2 coz he thght Pulsars were too big for him !!
Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!
Hyosung Aquila : Because sometimes you need to look cool while riding at 40 kmph and you can do that only on a cruiser !!!

I know a bulleteer who weights 54 kilos. So yes, it doesn't make sense to say that you should be of a certain built to ride a bike. Its all about balance and handling as you said.

And yes, I don't think we will se female Ninja riders in India. If we do, then that's a good thing .

I know at least one woman hu might !! Thats my sister to be exact. She knows how to ride bikes and rides her friends CD100. She even rode my Aquila one time when she came down to Bangalore !! I know I might get her to ride the Ninja !!
Only thing is my Mom's gonna have a holy fright if both of us get a Ninja each !!

Also there are so many girls now a days riding bullets, so I guess a few wud take to the Kwacker !!

Pranay my friend, I agree to what you are saying but to some extent only. The example you quoted - Bullet, gives the rider that kind of a scope that even a guy with a short stature can ride it comfortably.
Now let me quote another example I find riding P220 quite uncomfortable, because the front cowl that extends till the mid of tank touches my knees, also everytime I apply brakes it hurt my knees.

As far as female Ninja riders are concerned, just let it launch and we will see ...
I'd rather be riding my motorcycle thinking about God than sitting in church thinking about my motorcycle.
Ride often, ride well, have fun.

+1 If one needed to be of a certain type to ride a certain bike, then there would certainly be lesser bikes on the road!

Ok, 2 counter examples- I guy I know rides a ZMA, he's about 5'6" and with short legs. If he tries to put both his legs down, it doesn't touch the ground. He needs to slide over one side so his toes can touch on one side.
Another guy I know is a tall 6'3" guy, he rides a 220 and his legs are such neither it fully extends out so he can put it over the fairing and neither does it go behind the fairing if he pushes himself totally behind.

My point is: You don't need to be a certain build, you need to be able to adjust and find a positions that comfortable to you.

I don't know for how long you have ridden a 220, but the awkwardly placed fairing takes time getting used too. If your knees are hitting at times of braking, you just need either control yourself from sliding or need to sit ahead enough so you knees are ahead of the point of beginning of the fairing.

Any bike requires compromises and adjustments. But that don't mean one is not built for that kind of a bike!

Guys guys , (r thr any girls in here ????), this was a Ninja 250 news thread remember !!
We are veering OT majorly ere I believe.

Lets start another thread on bike design/ergonomics/popular conceptions about powerful bikes in India/size matters and all that !!

I guess its about time we had some such discussion cosidering some bikes (R15, every bike by TVS) are designed assuming everyone in India is 5'4" !!

                  Right said..

I am also around 5'4''... but hey, I ride the P220 (mostly with woodland boots) and never are both my feet planted completely on the ground..

But then my legs fit perfectly into the knee recess of any Pulsar (P150/180/200/220) without any problem and it doesn't touch the fairing of the P220 either..

The Glass can either be half-full or half-empty depending on the perspective of the one who is gazing at it.

In fact I used to weigh 50 Kgs when I had bought the CBZ as my first bike...

In the future (a couple of years from now, probably a decade) I look to ride a bullet (probably the 500cc Bullet Classic).

I'm riding a Mach500LB for about ten days now. I upgraded from a YBX125. To be very honest, the Bullet feels way more stable than any motorcycle on the road and this includes the 220s and ZMAs. And I am talking about shunting from end to end, across medians on Hosur road to avoid the crazy buses and assorted cagers. I also weigh in at a feather weight 60. Weight does matter, only while pushing your bike physically somewhere, not while riding.

Finally this thread is up and running again, right now i am beyond frustration waiting for this Bike, i ended up buying Dio for ma self, I wouldn;t mind getting the one which is not tested yet, HONEST. . Even my cousin brother is interested as well, I sold ma P200 and now he is selling his P200 as well for this bike but dont know whether we would be the lucky ones from Nort East. I have requested Satya from Pune to book one for as soon as the booking is opened, infact i wil have to ask him to book 2 or 3 more, All my riding gears ready for this Baby Ninja, Alpinestras Jacket, Alpinestars Gloves, Arai helmet. I can't put this on and ride ma Dio. Now just waiting for the Bike. If I don't get one when launched, I am thinking of importing one, cannot wait anylonger......Bajaj guys are you all listening .
