KTM 690 for 3.5 lakhs. I will surely have an heart attack the day it is launched, even if launched, I doubt it will priced just 3.5 lakhs.

The company has also planned to take Ninja in the the category of 750 cc bikes.
and what rubbish is this? Ninja 750? What are they gonna do? Increase ZX 6R Stroke Size, in the same bore for low end punch?

Man, Bajaj are so sketchy, I mean, Duke for 3.5 Lacs ... I'll purchase it even if it's 5 Lacs. At least bring it fellas, Will ya?

Man, if a magazine says that "Smoking is harmful", you should either stop purchasing cigarettes, or stop purchasing the Magazine. I really don't know what to do about these "Web" articles...

3.5 IF they go locally!!!i cant see all components from outside coming here, getting assembled and then 3.5.if they really are then make my name in the heart list.

            what of linea??same thing..cost cutting.

and currently seeing the financial results of all auto companies plummeting like hell, launch dates may go even more ahead.

            anvancy.

5.5 for a Duke 690 seems to be the right price. That, if Bajaj can build the Duke at their Chakan plant. But 3.5?

The bike in 500-750cc range must simply mean the KTM 690 Duke.

                I am very much excited!

Bajaj to roll out KTM bike by May- Two-wheelers-Auto-News By Industry-News-The Economic Times

The country’s second-largest two-wheeler maker Bajaj is expected to roll out the first of its KTM in India to coincide with the festive season this year, reports Our Bureau.

According to company officials, KTM bikes, initially launched as completely knocked down (CKD) kits , will happen by the second half of the next fiscal. However, for Bajaj Auto, excitement with the niche high-end bikes will begin in mid-May, when the Kawasaki Ninja 250R is expected to hit the roads.

Its price tag is expected to be in the range of Rs 2.5-3 lakh, company officials said. Bajaj Auto MD Rajiv Bajaj has been quoted as saying that the Kawasaki Ninja 250R would come in as a CBU product, priced at over Rs 2 lakh. Meanwhile, the major is rolling out its latest offering, the XCD 135 cc DTS-Si bike, which is available with drum brakes.

Vikalp Kapoor, regional manager, two-wheeler sales, Maharashtra, said the bike, fitted with disc brakes, will come into the market by the weekend. It is priced at Rs 47,000, ex showroom Pune. The entry-level XCD 135cc bike is priced just Rs 2,000 more than the XCD 125 cc, at Rs 43,000.

Bajaj Auto’s move to strengthen its position in the value segment will see the launch of two bikes over the next 4-5 months, starting with a 125 cc bike by March-April and another by May-June.

                      ^^^

Nothing can be trusted now. None of the articles. Also, it's not the fault of the press. Bajaj themselves are confused. Sometimes, they say CKD. Sometimes, CBU. Sometimes 1.75 - 2. Sometimes, 2-2.5. Now 2.5 - 3?

Give Ninja Fans and bikers a break!

Different versions from Bajaj Officials?? Unlikely I'd say..

The over enthusiasm of the publications to be the first one to make "Breaking News" might be the culprit here..

Hmm. That too could be the case.

                          But here are two quotes.

"The price for the Ninja will be in the range of Rs 1.75 lakh to Rs 2 lakh"
Source: Bajaj to foray into 750cc bike segment | Deccan Chronicle

"Its price tag is expected to be in the range of Rs 2.5-3 lakh"
Source: Bajaj to roll out KTM bike by May- Two-wheelers-Auto-News By Industry-News-The Economic Times

Even if they haven't quoted such, taking into mind the launch dates they told us, I still blame Bajaj for playing ringa ringa roses with us.

Dont want to start any rumors, I just heard the Ninja launch date is this 2009 December. The moment I heard it, I disposed of it as poor information, However, still asking if anyone has heard anything similar??

P.S.- please dont chew my head off for this
                            You get the point?? :D

Thats what the press release says too! But I won't buy it if its more than 2.5 lakhs on road.
