Kawasaki launches Z800 in India at Rs 7.9 lac (Pune) and Rs 8.05 lac (Delhi)

After the successful launch of the Z1000 naked monster at Rs 12.5 lac, Kawasaki today launched the smaller 806cc Z800 at a much lower price tag of Rs 7.9 lac (ex-showroom Pune) and Rs 8.05 lac (ex-showroom Delhi). The bike will be imported as CBU from Thailand where it sells for around 375000 Thai Baht (in Thailand) or around Rs 6.75 lac in our local currency. Hence, this price tag of Rs 7.9 lac in India is simply praise worthy!

    Engine Capacity: 806cc

    Max Power: 113 Bhp
    Max Torque: 83 Nm
    Tyre size Front: 120/70ZR17M/C (58W)
    Tyre size Rear: 180/55ZR17M/C (73W)
The bike was launched at a press conference held in the capital today where a new Exclusive Authorized Kawasaki Showroom (managed by Bagga Link) was thrown open to public as well, being located at Vasant Vihar, New Delhi.

Speaking at the Conference, Yuji Horiuchi, Managing Director – India Kawasaki Motors, said

Many people have been involved with this Z800 introduction project. We would first, thank our partner Bajaj Auto for the incessant support in setting up this business. And also we thank customers who have supported our brand from various aspects. Z 800 is a naked sports bike that is highly popular in the European Market. The aggressive appearance of the front face and the sharp design of body parts make for a style that creates an impact.
In India, the bike will be imported as completely built units (CBU) from Thailand and will be retailed through the standalone showroom of Kawasaki in Pune (second being in Delhi) alongwith the newly established showroom in Delhi. The bikes will be priced at Rs.7,90,000 (ex Showroom in Pune) and Rs.8,05,000 (ex-showroom In Delhi) as the introductory price”, said Prem Bagga, Managing Director – Bagga Link

“In the coming future Superbikes industry in India is poised to grow at a rapid pace just like the luxury lifestyle market and our joint presence with Kawasaki will further strengthen our sales in this segment”, said Gaurav Bagga, Joint MD, Bagga Link, Delhi.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

Awesome news for us bike lovers and one more step closer would be many who want to own a sbk. ₹8L is really good of a I4 800cc machine.
Kudos to Kawasaki for begin serious towards India.

            Ride safe and have fun.

yeah triumphs but i don't think they have a good service network (right now) like kwasaki (old player) and not to forget about hyosung and ducati everyone just suffers who invest on those brands....i think kawasaki z800 is the safest bet between 6-10 lac

Good pricing. 7.9L for a CBU is not bad compared to 7.5L for a CKD Street Triple ABS. May be the Thailand Route helped them.
                    Z800 in UK = 7499 GBP
ST ABS in UK = 7349 GBP

So, an owner will still be paying CBU taxes on ST, albeit to Triumph, instead of the govt

Back on topic: The tourers and the naked fans have some good inventory to set their eyes on. Come on Kawa, cook something for the supersport fans please

This is good and Kawasaki is only making things better.

BTW, do you guys think it will dent the market for DUCATI MONSTER in India? Both are naked and has appealing looks, DUCATI sounds a bit premium though; specs look better for the Kawi, price is almost same or maybe Kawi a tad bit lower 'on-road'.

Ducati monster has no market that will need to be dented. even after its yummy price tag it hardly sells in few numbers. In secondhand market there are more N650s than Monsters. I myself dumped Monster. Reason? Overpriced spare parts and crappy service support.
