This is GREAT news IF the manufacturers pass on the benefit!

This will be applicable IF kawasaki passes on the benefit.

If they indeed slash prices, I guess one on the lookout should buy the vehicle (car/bike) in these 4 months before elections.
I wont be a straight 4% discount man. But highly doubt if any bike manufacturer is gonna pass this on to us.

Good news. But let's see what is passed on to the customers.

Obviously they added it for the case of increase in price but it should apply here as well But, but it will help only if KTM decides to slash price
      Have you booked a 390?

The way this is gonna work is, the excise is applicable to the manufacturer and not the dealer.

If the dealer buys a new stock/vehicle from the company, they'll get the excise benefit which will be passed on to the customer.
If the customers/end users vehicle is already billed and is with the dealer, in his stockyard or for registration, the customer won't get the excise benefit.

        Hope this helps.

        Cheers

KTM MAY have a 2-2.5k drop in prices (390). Just had a conversation with a KTM sales rep so this is not confirmed. Confirmed info will be known in the next couple of days.

Nonetheless, it seems it is going to be a very short term measure. The only way i see it extending is it gets huge feedback in terms of sales and the industry growth inclines by a very high margin.

Wow... 7600 is a big deal.... Hope KTM does it for D390 soon. And right time for P400 to launch, with introductory pricing, it can go on sale as low as 1.6-1.7 lakhs(ABS Version)...

Hero Moto Corp have decided to pass on the entire benefit of the excise duty cut to their customers. They have spread out the price cut across the product portfolio ranging from 2% going up to 5% with the maximum reduction being Rs 4500.

                          Dear SRTH1987,

According to my understanding of the news, even the vehicles imported as CKD units will be applicable for the Excise benefit.

But in the end, it all depends upon the manufacturer (Kawasaki in your case), whether it wants to pass the benefit to the customer or not.

A link is attached for your reference. I hope its legal here to do so.

Called TVS Goregaon, Mumbai yesterday. A cut of 1.5k-2k expected on the RTRs (which I intend to buy) at the end of this month. Sales rep told this. Will post more details in the coming week. Currently On Road price still stands at Rs. 87850/- w accessories (in MUMBAI!)

I enquired about the price of 200NS and was glad to know that the price have come down by Rs.4000 i.e. from 1 lakh to 96,000. This price cut is there in delhi atleast. New prices would be applied by this Monday or Tuesday.

This news was a good one for me as I am going to buy an NS, the next week.
