  • Suzuki GW 250S unveiled at Shanghai: xBhp News

Based on the Suzuki Inzuama GW 250, the company has showcased the GW250S at the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition in China.

This motorcycle is being produced by Suzuki's China joint venture Changzhou Haojue Suzuki Motorcycle Co., Ltd. It is essentially the same bike with a semi-fairing. Besides being semi-faired, the bike also gets a higher handle bar to make it better for touring. The original bike was a naked, projected as a street bike. It will of course be a tad bit heavier.

The bike features a liquid-cooled twin that is fuel-injected and counter-balanced and hooked to a six-speed transmission. The engine features a slightly undersquare configuration, allowing for additional torque.

The bike will first be launched and sold in China, before it hits the overseas markets.

Will such a bike be better than the naked for India in looks and practicality?

Looks better than the naked GW250, but even with the fairing, it's close to ugly.
Still, this bike has the potential to be a great sports tourer, given the tall windscreen and the fairings.

Is it coming to India, as a variant for it's yet-to-be-launched 'naked' brother?

my opinion is that, with such a design it's hard for it to survive in the Indian market while the rest of it's competitors are much better in looks and also there are other things which are not said in this thread, about it's power, peak torque, 0-100, top end, etc,. or at least a review about it. . . So, it's hard to properly determine about this bike. . . Overall looks wise, it's good for touring but I do not think not much will like it's design. . . Suzuki must concentrate on the designs for this bike which is one of the main thing people will look for a bike. . . That's it, in short please improve the design before releasing it into Indian markets for the bike to survive here with all other competitors. . .

few days back everybody use to say MOJO is an ugly bike now they got one more to call ugly...
My opinion..these are not ugly, these bikes are unique.they serve their own purpose

Rakesh, the Inauzma has been running around in international markets for quite some time and there are lots of reviews. Sharing some specs here.

The GW250S will use the same fuel injected 248cc Twin engine as the naked and police models. Haojue claims an output of 24 hp at 8500 rpm and 16 ft-lb. at 6500 rpm. The GW250 also features a six-speed transmission, Suzuki B-King-inspired styling, twin exhausts, telescopic fork, seven-way adjustable spring preload rear suspension and a 3.5 gallon fuel tank.
The Suzuki Inazuma GW250S Travel Edition of Suzuki's popular 250cc commuter-tourer motorcycle is heavier at 213 kg in contrast to the Suzuki Inazuma GW250 Standard Edition which weighs in at 183 kg.
                  Comfortable spacious,
                  low seat height
and compact chassis design provide easy handling

Infact the GW's ultra-low seat (770mm, lower than the FZ's) can become it's own strong point.

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

I wish that they atleast change the headlamp and the alloys on the naked one, IMO the rest is still manageable.

The Mojo is at a different level entirely.

This bike I find is quite practical. Semi-faired, with decent amount of power and extremely comfortable ergonomics. Even the pillion seat looks comfortable. No split seats and all that junk. A practical tourer and city runner. If I didn't own a 220, I would contemplate something like this. The windscreen and upright seated position all draw me towards it.

Looks are something that I don't care much about. Even then I don't find it ugly. Not the best looking motorcycle either!

I remember when the ZMR and CBR were launched, I found them disgusting to look at. They looked terribly bloated and overweight. I thought only people who like boats will find them good looking. But over time seeing them everyday on the road, I have got used to the looks to the point where I don't find them ugly anymore.

I wonder if it is really that ugly or is it just that we have read everywhere that it is ugly, so we join the bandwagon? A digital version of mob mentality?

@Dreamwalker987 : Totally agree with you! These bikes are made for a purpose and that is touring! If it does a good job at that then there is nothing to complain about. Infact I never really disliked the looks of Inazuma (the 3rd pic from front looks like a mini hayabusa!). Only after reading comments that it is ugly, I felt it to be somewhat ugly. So I would say it a general perception of people, the moment they see couple of comments that the bike is ugly, the trend continues

Why are the Japanese bikes so very heavy??? Look the KTM!

Also, I am pretty sure this bike won't do Suzuki India's fortunes any good. Doesn't this bike make the exact same horsepower as the 200NS? Really? For a bike which weighs 40 kilos more (than the Pulsar in its Naked form)?? Japs keep on launching products like these and then people call the mods "Pro Bajaj / KTM".
