The waiting period for RC390/RC200 is close to 3 months, give or take a few days because the bikes will have to be shared between export and Indian dealers. So I am sure the first delivery won't be until late Nov or even early Dec, the promises by dealers are just that, they just say that to get your booking.

Then I called them recently about a week back when they told me within 45 days. SO AM GUESSING IT WILL BE OCTOBER first week. I CANT WAIT! thank god i booked early. Others may have to wait ~3 months. I now feel I should have gone for RC390
      Congrats for your booking!

I was also told that the first lot of people will be getting in about 20 days!

If you want to change your booking, I guess you can do that.
Have you talked to the showroom guys about the same?

How's the headlamp of RC390? Bright enough I guess. Most probably using H7 setup. Well, Duke is going to get headlamp transplantation soon.
        I am back!

                  Thank you
                  1. The bike clearly sounds diffrent from the duke 390 to me .
                  2. I personally found the seating position of th rc 390 very comfortable and my back gets very stressed when it's upright (eg: duke, as i said this is my personal opinion )
                  3. the fairing seems very sturdy and strong , but the plastics used near the speedo look cheap , but not that bad..
                  4. i felt riders seat was a bit hard and the pillion seat to be a bit too soft .
                  5. The bike feeds you with confidence :P
                  6. clutch and brake levers are a let down to the bike.
                  7. It's nothing like i've ever rode before (In indian market)
                  8. Makes a mad jet engine sound which attracts a lot of attention when the bike is standstill !

Joining the pack of folks who booked their RC390, booked mine on Sept 10.
For me it was between the Duke 390 and the RC 390, took a leap of faith with the RC. The bike will be used for long distance trips, so the seating position and range was/is a concern. The only reason of going with the RC is the fact that there is a Duke 390 I can use in case I need it.

Yet to test drive it, but here are my thoughts about the bike :
                    - The headlights : some say it's ugly, but I liked it. It grows on you. You get two ( as mentioned on this page) bulbs, for high beam and low beam. The projectors are really powerful, the air in front of it started heating up a bit after we turned it on for a minute. I have been told that it's shows how "powerful" they are. I am still skeptical about how good the 'spread' is, because we wont be riding on high beam. If someone can comment on this, that will be helpful.
                    - The pillion seats : I was riding pillion on the way to the showroom on the Duke 390, and I felt the RC seats to be more comfortable. That being said, we didn't take it on the road to see how it feels to be a pillion with the mad acceleration that is expected from KTM. The material is good too, and I liked the design, The grab rails look good and is a clever design, doubt if its going to be useful; the natural reaction is to hold on to the person who is riding the bike during mad acceleration not "holding on your thighs" posture.

                    - Engine heating - The folks at the showroom informed that the one will not feel the heat on your legs like the Duke series, this was attributed to the 'gills" in the fairing which according to them channels the air down or sideways ( away from your legs).

Test ride to start after two weeks, think they are waiting for the run-in to be done in a proper manner.

The twin headlights are just to die for.

I see you are in Bangalore too, the TD is supposed to start sometime during the first week of Oct. The FB page for KTM RC Bangalore has a few pics of a ride to what looks like Nandi Hills.

As I mentioned earlier, the manager of ktm mekhri circle have confirmed about TR starting from 2nd week of Oct.

Are the pics at Nandi hills of the RCs?
