Good News and Its only few days you will be happy once you get it.

For me I have lost all hope and cancelling my booking by this weekend. I am without a bike for last 20 days and taking car to office everyday is getting difficult.

I am settling down for an R15 with Daytona exhaust. Only fight going on is 4K hefty cancellation charge.

As i told them you guys were telling 45 days at the beginning and now you don't even know when is it coming ?

500 Rs is a reasonable cancellation charge 4K is way to much

I booked in Kerala and road tax is lesser there. And about processing fee I am taking loan directly from bank and they are charging processing fee. What I don't understand is why showroom guys are charging for this.

I would suggest, when you have waited so long, wait some more. And I think, its the T&C (which says 90 days waiting period) that would be followed and not what they have verbally assured.

If you are sure about the cancellation, why not go for the CBR 250 rather? (do keep us updated about the cancellation)

The showroom has no business in charging anything related to load. Whether you take a loan or pay cash, it doesn't make a difference to the showroom/dealer as they get the money in one shot, be if from you or the bank!

I don't have an issue if they give me a date ! but they are not giving a date they are still like you may or may not get it by December end as well.

How can I trust this guys they don't even bother to look at what they are receiving or already delivered and tell the future simple approximate analytic.

Today he was like RC200 they are not getting much stock whatever.

I am going with R15 because of its Nimble nature and light weight and the best part quality. I am getting it in 125K on road can use those 50K for the Daytona upgrades

Let see will update you on this weekend what will be the final take.

Please put some pick when you get it and also pointers on what to check pre delivery.

I heard a lot of issues with rattle sounds all over the bike ;0 lol

Why dont you shoot a mail to KTM. Being in Pune, you should not have been facing what you actually are!!

I will put up photos once I get the bike. I have heard about the rattles at lower RPMs but have also heard that with time, by the 1st service, they settle down. Let's see how it goes for me.
I don't think I will be going for a long list of PDI items. You will get one somewhere in this thread itself.

I again suggest you to shoot a mail to KTM before you decide. It would be sad to see if you abandon what you had wanted!

Can you give some details about your insurance? Which company? Whether B2B or not?

Yes, perhaps in a perfect world they even would but sadly there is no such thing in real life. There are charges collected every time. Even in the name of processing fee which is near quater to half the claim.

That's true. It also depends on Workshops when I claimed for my Karizma back in 2010 at ASC I had to pay for the work and wait for reimbursement that time only got 40% of claimed amount. When my friend claimed for his R15 at ASC they told the payment will be through Insurance and asked to pay the difference after claim was processed, he got almost 80% of claimed amount.
Both bikes was under National Insurance and was 1year old. The hero ASC guys told that they have tie up with Oriental guys and don't have to pay initially if my insurance was from oriental.

I've seen less benefit when they ask to make payment first and wait for reimbursement both for cars and bikes.

Was the cancellation charges mentioned on the document you signed ? And there is nothing much you can do about the 90 day waiting period(that's the normal 'maximum' waiting period be it any bike from ktm)
Regarding cancellation, You can always write to ktm first (and take it up legally next) regarding this hefty cancellation charge. It is one thing if the bike was allotted and ready for delivery and then you cancel it, and a totally different thing that you haven't even seen a glimmer of hope except for the ASC's parrot talk. Put it in writing to the ktm guys.

IMO do not waste your money on the daytona kit..not worth the priceerformance gains. Pick up a cbr250 or maybe even a d200/390(if you don't mind a naked bike)
Or simply wait it out for your rc...! I almost bought the r15 but backed off and then I had to wait one whole year to pick up my d200 (due to personal reasons). Trust me, its worth the wait/delay.. maybe you might get an improved version of the rc like i got an improved duke! Sometimes forgetting things (at least temporarily) by putting your mind elsewhere helps 'speed up' stuff.

Dude.. Trust ME!!! Just Hold On!!! Jo Hota hai, Bhalai ke kiye hi hota hai.. (Whatever happens, it happens for your own good)..

Just hold on for a while more and you will get your babe.. I can assure you that you won't regret it.. Don't make the wait for all these while go waste.. it's just 45 days.. I waited for 60 days man.. Just some more..

It's United India Insurance.. It's a 0 dep insurance.. (price difference between comprehensive & 0 dep = 200/- only )

I know what you are saying and regarding waiting its 57 days for me officially now. And the after even waiting for so long what showroom guys are giving is crap talk.

When I ask them are you sure that they can deliver me bike before 30 dec they are not sure about that also. Every time I call they say we only take bookings and you will get a call from back office. I mean who does it.

Ok I am not really a fan of naked bikes if new version of CBR was in I would have jumped on that but no news on that. I don't like the VFR styling at all.

And regarding the cancellation charge exactly my thought what you meant. they don't even know when my bike is coming. They are not even letting me know a date. Why the hell this hefty cancellation charge.

I am ready to pick the bike but you don't have it and you overcommitted 45 days waiting period, I know it was verbally but they are not denying it.

You can do this- Tell them that you are considering another bike and will cancel the booking if you don't get any confirmed dates within 2 weeks. This will poke them in the right place.
