I take this with a pinch of salt but if more people can enquire of HMSI dispatching 2014 250Rs and warehouses still storing them, it would be great.
I bought CBR250R recently in july 2014 , after waiting for over a year for RC to launch.

And speaking of "not all of them will be launched" , I did not mean immediate future , but another year or two ? yes definitely. Kawasaki even considered developing a Ninja in single cylinder says that Indian market cannot be ignored (Z250 , yes there can be a question mark on that one ). Hey! then there are these Harley streets remember. And CBR250 souped up version (one launched in Indonesia recently)or CBR300R cannot say which one will come , but like I said they just cant ignore.
However, KTM/Bajaj have definitely showed the others how to play this game. All this competition is win-win for us consumers .

Tom: Aren't you scared you'll kill yourself if you crash?
Burt Munro: No... You live more in five minutes on a bike like this going flat out than some people live in a lifetime.

The "Answer" lies in manufacturing in India..

.. but then the "Question" arises whether it'll sell profitably to be justified to be made in India.

Failure to answer the question (by showing actual results) might make you lose your job.. therefore its not so easy a decision to make.

Since these faired versions weigh almost 20 kgs more than their naked versions how will this fair in terms of acceleration given the same power... can someone please explain this?

Its just 8kgs more.so performance will be similar, and more easy on bike at higher speeds due to fairing.
Though priced very well, it should've been 2.6/2.7ish onroad.Reason being quality. The first lot duke 200 was cheapest(1.28l onroad) but compare it with current duke(1.5l~) onroad, and it will become evident. This improvisation and all, should come straight from company at launch based on feedback of test riders and not us owners.

it will be interesting to see how the single cylinder RC390 performs in high rpm range against twin cylinder kawasaki ninja 300.

did someone observed that rev limit of RC390 is lower than RC200.

                and hence the more torque.

The engine and gearing is same as duke 390 and weight is also similar only difference is fairing which helps at high speed. The duke stays ahead till 140-150kmph then ninja takes over, so in case of RC it might help another 10 or 15kmph so my guess would be RC stays ahead till around 165 kmph post which ninja still has top end advantage. Will have to wait for some reviews to find out. The Engine is hitting revvlimiter even in top gear which is disappointing, looks like the bike has potential till 190 but is limited with gearing
The peak power rpm depends on engine configuration and size of engine too. A 375cc single cylinder revving to 10k itself is great.
The duke 690 engine which is even bigger single cylinder produces 67ps @ 7500 rpm, so the bigger the single cylinder, the lesser will be the rev limit.

I will also be interested in the accelration timings post 100kmph .... Like 0-150 kmph how much time does it take? also roll over from say 80kmph to 150kmph (driving normally then accelrating because of a stimulus on road scenario :P)? The duke owners might know! ... after 150 I am assuming it would be relatively slow as it nears top speed ....

I wonder what difference in performance 8 Kg will bring in comparison to Duke390. But I am looking forward to it to hit the showroom asap.

But hey, its 43.5 PS in 2.05L! This is bringing serious chill throw my spine.

I just wish for two things, they should provide optional ABS feature and quality should not be compromised given the brand stature.

                        ^^^ 390 has ABS, 200 does't.

Does anyone know the on-road price of RC390 in Delhi? I remember when Duke 390 was launched at Rs. 1.80 ex-showroom, it was Rs. 2.01 OTR in Delhi, so RC390 should be around Rs. 2.25.

Fb page of KTM Lajpat Nagar had quoted an onroad price of 2.30 to 2.35 lacs.
