Well the busa will soon be updated by 2017 as per sources, and if it's true, they are selling their stock here at 5lacs cheaper. Still good news for upcoming busa buyers.

Re: Suzuki Hayabusa to be assembled in India, price to drop by Rs 5 Lakhs

Update: Suzuki commences CKD assembly of Hayabusa at its Gurgaon plant.

Prices reduced to 13.57lac Ex Showroom Delhi, a reduction of over 2 lac. Road Tax should also reduce substantially since it is now CKD instead of CBU.

Yep Suzuki is still making a FAT profit off each bike. Possibly stock clearance to prepare for next-gen bike.
              Oh well, still unaffordable.

Now Suzuki should bring Bandit via CKD. They can sell it under 10l on road

Well now the Hayabusa will have a saree guard. God I cant see that. Will that beefy exhaust do the job instead of saree guard ?

Why just Hayabusa? The real bikes we need are Gsxr600/750, gsr and Vstroms.

Daytona, Street triple, speed triple etc are already CKD units in India. All has saree guard as well. India specific daytona has even grab rails.
I think its time for Yamaha to do something like this, atleast with the MT-09 AND MT-07, price it competitively and kill the competition. Yamaha doesnt seem too entertained by this. If I am not wrong, the R3 is their only CKD bike.
Anyway, kudos to Suzuki and prospective Busa buyers. But what will be the situation of other owners who have bought the vehicles in last couple of months ?

Ever since Suzuki set up CKP ops for the Inazuma they started going down the CKD route. Now that an assembly line for the Hayabusa has come up, it will be used to assemble other products as well. I am guessing they may start with products already selling here - the Bandit, Intruder and (hopefully) GSX1000. I also think that the GSXR (be it a 1000, 750 or 600) would have very little chance of being a CKD and will come as CBU from Japan being the flagship.

What would be interesting is if Suzuki decides to go in the midsize segment. The 650 V-twin in various guises, the smaller GSXs, maybe even the big DR singles. I mean if Suzuki can bring in a couple of ATVs to sell in India then surely they can bring in these as well - I am sure volumes for each will be equally small or large depending on how they look at it.

So now, as things stand, the Busa is cheaper than the 959 Panigale.

Yes, but remember those are two very different bikes . I'm keeping my fingers crossed to see how the other big manufacturers react to this. If they follow suit, that's going to be great for the enthusiasts here.
