First of all, I think that we should be taking the mileage and power figures with a pinch of salt.
Neither of them hold good in real world situations. Test conditions are NOT practical conditions. Maybe companies should adopt Bajaj like strategy - 58 kmpl if ridden at 55 kmph as an example.
But advertising 102 kmpl is kinda misleading IMO because every tom dick and harry would expect a similar figure and cry foul later because one cannot achieve that in the real world.

Sent from my phone. Kindly avoid it while riding.

Exactly my point. I am happy to see a thought without an over-active imagination and extreme dramatisation. The clamed and actual figures should be close. There should not be a mssive difference between them.

I am very skeptical about that OD claims for those 3 bikes. The manufacturers run the vehicle without load and under controlled conditions to arrive at the fuel efficiency and in comparison these guys have ridden on the actual road including ghats with their body weight and gotten better results, crap I would say.

I am not really sure about the claims. A similar claim was made for Ford Fiesta (previous generation) where without AC and windows rolled up and the car driven sedately returned 30 (or was that 35) kmpl, which is 2-2.5 times the best mileage a commoner can get. So, twice of the average of 60 should lead to 100 which is what Hero and Honda bikes delivered. Platina delivering 132 seems beyond the imagination too.

In any case, these numbers are meaningless, so not much fruitful discussion over these topics

Believe me guys,If Honda was with Hero this Time,Honda would have been silent and would go with Hero's words. As they are seperate ways now,Rivalry has increased.Hero has no EBR and No Honda.Quality of the Hero Bikes are noticeably Down.Hero should produce their Own ngines and should stop playing with Honda's Products. And stop Lying too !

That was from autocar tested on two ford ikon duratorq engines. They travelled on the golden quadrilaterals. They did quote mileage ranges from 30-47kmpl depending on load and road(I still don't know how they did it). But hero's claim on an age old tech engine with nothing but an additional start stop tech and low friction could never possibly increase economy by 25-30kmpl. If its the case, fz, gizzer, unicorn and other "low friction internals" used engines should have provided more than 30kmpl improvement.
