This is a real welcome move for Indian SBK community. At least if this rule gonna applicable strictly SBK group won't be blamed for any mishaps created by the rich kids.

Along with this govt should approve the DOT/EEC helmets as well.

Bang on target Monk!

Right now the news makes no sense to me. Enforce strict driving tests WITHOUT CORRUPTED RTO guys. Simple.

I am pretty sure >90% motorists on roads aren't aware of the MOST BASIC road rules. Just try asking your friends 'what does the double line' dividing the road means, and you will get what I mean.

i have a slightly different doubt with this proposed new regulation.
if the testing/screening has to be that much more difficult, how will it happen? will the RTOs have some superbike with them for the applicant to show his competency, or does the rider bring his own?
in that case, he will have to buy a superbike and HOPE that he gets the licence, because if he doesn't, what happens to the bike?

The only way this make sense, is if you are given a Superbike licence after a certain period of having a regular riding licence.

For example, you have to be more than 21 years of age and have had a regular licence for 3 years before you can apply for a superbike licence.

In an ideal world, a licence would be issued only after a rider has completed a certain number of hours from a recognized training school. We do not have anything to make this possible anytime soon.

What will happen is that, the RTO guys will say pay 10000 to that agent sitting there in a red shirt for a superbike licence and a 1000 to that agent sitting there in a blue shirt for a regular licence!

RE CGT is 535cc and very fast! It even has Brembos.
