It was back in December 2015, that the first photos of what could be called as the Suzuki GSX 250R

Design is inspired from the bigger GSX-R siblings. The sporty fairing is full of sharp edged panels. It also houses a tall windscreen and rear view mirrors. Clip-on handlebars, fully digital instrument console, huge fuel tank, split seats and thick tyres are the other noteworthy elements.

    News Approved.

So, its basically a twin cylinder CBR 250 of some kind, "almost"... I guess its the Inazuma engine, or is it not?

I know its going to get some rants for its "not so powerful" approach to a street 250, but I believe it will find its happy takers.
Low to mid range Torque is not so outdated after all. It will still do great for a rider, who wants a looker and sounder, without the compromises of a sportsbike.

The weight could've been worked upon. But its quite passable, still better than a Kawasaki Ninja 400R with 200 kgs or the 600i.

I've always loved the "everything supersport but torquey engine" concept, but the thing is... yes... most of them screw up the weight, & the concept goes awry.
    This bike is ok though.

And I guess, from the ok-ok GS150R to the good selling Gixxer, and from the rejected Inazuma to this bike, Suzuki learned this market well now. Those who missed the Inazuma, well... let's hope this launches here.

Why did they take so long to plonk a fairing on an already tested platform of the Zuma

Going by their history with the Zuma, i hope they've learnt their lesson in pricing and dont blow this the same way they did with the Zuma... Anything over 2.5 L OTR, and they'd be treading into Yamaha/Kawa territory...

I don't see any ABS rings though... Might be a deal breaker for nitpicky buyers

Zuma was a CBU, hence the cost. I'm sure this will be brought in as CKD/assembled here to keep costs in check.

I don't think it will make sense if it's launched above 2 lakh no usd's ,no projector ,power to weight ratio is a joke. Best it can compete is with CBR 250r.

Though it hasnt been tested on Road, I very skeptical about its performance with that weight and Power figures. My opinion- Suzuki shouldnt bother to bring it to India, until it is manufactured here. Anything above 2L, forget R3 - even KTM,Bajaj, TVS will strangle it to death. Though I hope, I am proven wrong and it puts on some road shattering performance from the twin cylinder.

What if Suzuki launches a single cylinder "just for India" to "cut down" the cost

What is wrong with 24 bhp? I don't understand why people come to judge a bike without even seeing how the bike performs!

FYI, The mighty Karizma has only 17 bhp power and weighs close to 154 kgs and still performs pretty well..
The mighty P220 has 21bhp and weighs 150kgs and performs well.

Yes, it isn't upto the competition.

Now, the R3 has 42 horses while the Ninja 300 has 39 horses and they are almost similar in terms of performance.

The problem is, we kill a product before even the product hits the road...

It is a Suzuki and the quality will be top notch.. adding to it, twin cylinder will be music to the ears..

Let us not crib over things that haven't even hit the roads yet..

Frankly speaking 24 hp isn't good enough *after seeing the likes of R3, N300 (2 cyl mills)*.
If Suzuki is pitting it against CBR 250R and D200, then this is acceptable.

Since it has the same Inazuma engine, one can rest assured that it will** be the finest 250 cc mill out there, with a great low to mid range.

                          **Conditions apply.

P.S : I wished for a 35 or so hp 250 cc twin from Suzuki.

How is it sad news mate? I'd think very few people were waiting for this with bated breath given the mediocre specs, certainly not in this forum.
I think if launched and sold via the same route the inazuma was(ckd), the sales figures would have been sad news for suzuki, so good thing this hasn't been launched.
Also, I think suzuki will come out with a bigger version for Europe/US soon and that might make its way to India
