The panel has also approved immediate withdrawal of advertisements, films and TV serials that show speeding and rash driving without "adequate warning" on the screen.
More than 3 lakh license have been suspended in the past six months for similar offenses.
According to the new amendment in the Motor Vehicle Act
1. For first time offenders, the fine would be Rs 5,000 or six months jail.
2. For subsequent offense there would be two years jail or Rs 10,000 fine.
3. Jail term of up to six months or Rs 2,000 fine have been proposed for drivers who fail to take crash victims to hospitals.
4. Driving without insurance could attract Rs 2,000 fine and 3 months jail for first offense and Rs 4,000 fine on subsequent offense.
5. Crash victims will be liable for compensation if they are hit by an uninsured vehicle.
Similar fines have been announced for vehicle component dealers found selling non-approved safety items.


I mean, I wait for the signal to turn Green with 40 seconds left and there are buses behind me honking to move my A** out of the way.. I always stay on the left.. All the way left and yet they want way.. If I don't move, they come in front of me and stare at me as if I am not obeying the traffic rules..
