Please try to understand that hx250r and hastur debacle happened because of their partnership with ebr which failed. But this time they are developing things on their own and everything is under their control. I cannot reveal too much detail here but I can assure you that they will be launching atleast two production ready products by auto expo.
Fair point. Their partnership with EBR possibly affected the production of those bikes.
Not sure when the Xtreme 200 was teased or if it is official.
Hopefully we can expect such concepts getting into production soon now.
Hero did take the risk and launch Impulse! It didnt catch much attention due to the fact it was highly underpowered! 13 odd bhp for adventure isn’t sufficient!!
If they manage to get it right with power and price, there will be many takers!!
Yes! Hero was probably brave and way ahead of the market when it launched the Impulse back then. I'm glad they did.
And RE too, with the Himalayan. Pretty gutsy to create an all new platform(for an RE) and fill the void in the adventure touring or On/Off-road segment.
What I meant to say in that post though, was that there are other new bikes in concept or production stages (BMW G 310 GS, Kawasaki Versys x300, Suzuki V-Strom 250, Honda CRF 250L, Hero xPulse etc) that are not being made available to the Indian market yet.
Hopefully, with more and more people taking up motorcycling for more than just commuting, we can see different bikes in India too!
Mojo is completely a different thing. The engine is such a gem. Only problem is looks ( for some. Some loves it, some hates it.) which is subjective. But here is problem. Mojo riders are matured riders. They are not much fascinated by Bhp. Currently, most 200c buyers are College students who are young and they do give consideration to Bhps. That's the reason new 200 NS have better sales figure than Apache 200 4V which is more refined one. Indian market is surely a complicated one.
I agree.
It's easy to look at just the specs and power figures and be lost in the world of numbers(BHP, top speed, 0-60 etc) and comparisons. But the way the bike rides and behaves and what if offers and lets you do, the overall utility is what matters more to me, than just the numbers.
It's really hard to please everyone though. To each his own.
Cheers

Last week I went to Hero showroom in Kalyan with my friend who was planning to buy achiever. The showroom sales guy was insisting him to wait till Jan end stating that hero is launching new hero extreme 200. Let's hope he meant Jan 2018....[emoji12]

Xtreme 200 will be most affordable & most fuel efficient bike in 200cc segment in India,it will be pillion friendly as well.
Beating NS and Apache 200 is not going to be easy. Note that Hero is new to 200 CC segment, which is a forte of Bajaj and TVS. Both these companies invested a lot and made some of the best products in their categories.
Don't expect anything more than 18/19PS and 18NM of torque from hero. if they can produce more than this, i doubt its reliability.
Leaving power figures aside, Hero need to fire their design team. The Xtreme 200 looks like a clown threw up on it. It'll never beat any other 200 cc in terms of looks and in India, I know that majority of buyers don't look at power figures, only looks and price. And just because of the slightly lower price, they'll sell a few XTreme's but looking at the past sales figures for their crappy redesigns eg the redesigned Karizma, I don't think it'll do that well.
Auto News: The Hero Xtreme 200R takes a lot from its prototype/concept model which was showcased at the Auto Expo 2016 as well as from the existing Xtreme Sports

The major part is its pricing
If its anywhere around a lakh it would be a huge flop ,no one would buy it in the likes of rtr 200 and ns 200.
Its top speed is only 114kmph
this bike is of no use in this price bracket.
The pricing should be less than 80K
to give a competition to hornet and fz
else it is a huge flop.
