Cool! Everyone is eagerly waiting to know the (Premium) prices for these bikes. Understand it will be priced at a premium but hope they don't price it way too premium because it is still Made in India and quality should not be projected for premium pricing since good quality is a standard for products to sell.

exactly !! just for brand one should not demand 1L premium. lets hope so called premium will not cross 30k

If they go by the way KTM has priced it's bikes in India they should set the price in the range of 2.6-3.2L including the additional cost of that three letter label.

I do not understand why People are ready to accept premium pricing just because of BMW badge.

Purely on merits, anything beyond 2.3 L for this is a NO go zone. Germans are not known for exact reliability either and given our dusty, humid conditions.. they need to prove themselves on biking front before they can ask for any premium. On Paper comparison, this do not stand a chance to Duke 390 and all comparison so far have declared Duke as winner.

Our Indian market is unique in many ways, I am hoping BMW will consider that and Price it aggressively if they want volumes and profits. If they are content selling in three digits a monthly initially and than double digits later on, that;s another story.

Yeah because a brand stands for something other than just name.

Sorry, these are mutually exclusive when you come to this category in India, either they get volume or they get profits, not both at the same time. This is not a spelndor/passion segment which targets both.

I expect them to make that brand name first before asking a Premium of big One for name. Just because they are Sold in Europe does n't make them premium. they have not proved themselves yet in targeted segment. If they are expecting a Premium of 1 Lakh just for logo and with 8 odd service centers, i would say god bless the poor ones who will put that kind of money on table. I hope you remember Inazuma which was a far superior bike to this GS but still failed due to its horrible pricing. Same hold good for Versys 300 X . Heard they has single digit sales in since launch as of previous month.

the classic 350 priced at around 1.3-1.4 L can sell like hot cakes, Why wont The BMW logo sale sale at 2.7L ??
The Mass is obsessed with 'Brand'. Mark my word- This will sell in good numbers mostly for the show-off factor. But the GS might flop at that price. Enthusiasts use brain more than the heart you see...

So compared to USA we get around 42000 INR discount on the street fighter version which is "made in India" by TVS, costs around 350000 INR in USA as per there official website.

R3 with twin cylinder, ABS and LED headlight costs the same and I was cursing yamaha and kawasaki for pricing there products way out of my reach.

Even BMW tag doesn't justify this pricing. Should have been lesser by at least 50K to 60K.
R3 with twin cylinder even via CKD is a better option at this price range.

Oh come on!! you are getting a beemer for less than 5 lacs and still people complain

. Doesnt matter its only got 2 wheels and 300cc engine.

On a serious note this pricing was expected. Not because they feel they will sell shi loads for whatever price, but because they dont have the infra to support the shitloads they sell, so they dont want to sell shitloads.

How many dealers do they have all over the country, how many SVCs? less than 20 I believe. How will they support if they manage to sell around 2000 units a year at lesser price? Already these <20 SVCs have to take care of their big bikes, so can they handle the bigger volume?

The only way out for BMW would have been to use TVS for ASS also, but it would have been a PR disaster for them and would turn off many prospective customers who are looking for a "premium" experience.

So you charge more, sell less, and keep the small number of customers happy (as much as they can).
