  • Vibes have now become one of the characteristic feature in RTR's that one riding it will get used to it in due course of time, if there is no vibes at all in RTR then one will miss the bike very badly!!

How would buyer feel to see mirrors vibrating at higher RPM levels (making the RVMs almost useless..??)

When one can file RTI in Bihar on phone...why can't some authorities wake up to rescue consumers (and company's reputation as well) ??

A150 sounded as if it's going to sink all 150cc bikes in one stroke, then it won mind boggling awards, only to be taken off shelf within 1.5 years or so. Then RTR, then RTR Fi all were having some 'vibration' issues. Anyone would expect TVS to rectify this on priority basis. Some time back people used to say "Even a Rolls Royce vibrates, so what.." ?...hope TVS doesn't have such mindset.

Let's see few more ownership views and reviews. I still hope RTR180 will be vibes free compared to the earlier versions, else it's a beating to TVS reputation and erosion in terms loyalty to TVS.

Heck! even the CBR150R vibes a lot...

As said by praful, take it as a characteristic of the bike.

ther have been complaints about shine as well and I know of at least one guy who compelled honda to change its vibrating shine!

But yes, TVS must look at curbing the vibrations issue.

      • Astride the 'menacing' new bike we try to tame the biggest Apache yet Does it smoke the competition away?

Is it the new performance king in India?

BIKE India uncovers the new 180cc Apache RTR, rides it the way it begs to be and ... Read the complete Road Test in the July issue of the magazine.

On stands by June 22nd 2009
Anyone got hands on the July edition??
btw when will they update the article on their website??

As they want to sell the magazine , in general they update when this issue is out of stands and new comes up that is around 20th of next week.
FYI, there are two small articles on the site on RTR 180 with name photo feature and first ride report.

I'll grab this issue asap, I inquired about it on Sunday but wasn't there.

            • I took a test ride of a brand new grey RTR180 (5km on odo) at Bharath TVS this evening. The pickup has improved noticeably and the bike revs very freely. I wanted to test its vibes so I took it upto 7k in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears but to my amazement vibes were almost non-existent I couldn't believe it... I tried 3-4 times just to make sure, and in different gears, but the outcome was the same... very little vibes!

very interesting , From what all i read in this forum , i think only 2 ppl complained of vibs and everyone else (8 , i think) have said there were no vibs. Becoz the bike is still not available in my city for TD, i would say "Majority Wins" and thtz good news.
i also tried to get my hands on tht magzine , it wasnt available anywhr. they said "July edition will come in July" . i just laughed and went away

well, i've had my fi for almost a year now, done 10,500+ kms on it. but everytime i ride it i still HATE the vibes which absolutely spoil any ride. the sweet part is that above 7k rpm it's much smoother, so i'm not complaining much these days. so don't fool yourself into thinking you'll get used to it. they're that severe.

still one of the best bikes out there.

                    About the Bike,
Has a good acceleration, exp in 3rd and 4th gear. Which is the one that made us go for it.
The white decals were visually appealing.
Exhaust growl is good. has more bass than the 160.
The racing rear fender makes the bike dirt!
The vibes can be felt when revved on stand still. but in motion(ist gear), I didnt feel it. Compensated by our weights
For a guy who is less that 5'8 the bike is good. But for me I felt it crampy.

                      • Had a smallish test drive of this latest variant of Apache RTR. The white color is pretty cool to look at in flesh, the intial accelration is just superb, from the lower revs bike pulls like hell. The stretch where i tested it was not long enough to check the top end performance. The bite from the disc brake on the both end was tremendously good. I am no expert on testing bikes so thats it for now. But would love to do a longer test ride to get a better idea.

Thats the way it has always been... pteew...

What I and am sure a lot of us needs to know is only about that TWO flacks that the bike had 1) The Stock Rubber performance 2) The Vibes (or rather the lack of it)

The rest I can very well imagine
R15 has a some what subdued aggression and is the bike for a cool rider wid a lot of patience.................nowhere near to the audacity of R1.I rode it and it was a performance bike only on the highways,in the city it made a lot of noise for a mere acceleration and that also was somewhat subdued.

While RTRfi is for the aggressive ones and feels like some Ducati SBK wid a lot of fiery iron welding character.Yet to get my hands on my own RTR180 and RTR 180 wud definitely much more of a Ducati SBK.Loud DesmoRR hehehe
