  • A new Karizma..Great. Now its the for first time i seeing a test bike from HH completely wrapped. May be some serious design changes(i hope its not stickers!! ).But from the clutch/crank cover colour i can relate it to being Fi(read:Stunner Fi) .IMO, A bike would be seriously tested on roads if some changes are carried out on the engine, and this in case it seems highly possible as we dont get to see HH test mules, often!!

      • Speculation not NEWS

For what reason is this thread here ? An opinion from a blog or a speculation in a mag. cannot become 'news'. The bike could be of any company, there's no conclusive evidence if it's from HH/HMSI/TVS/Bajaj. I guess this thread should belong to 'speculation thread' for time being.

              • guys,

anyone can shed any light on how much latitude HH has in re-working on the Karizma engine ?? is it restricted by any agreement or is the limitation solely a factor HH's competency or otherwise ??
There once was a woman who was quite begat.
She had three babies named Nat, Pat, and Tat.
She said it was fun in the breeding,
But found it was hell in the feeding
When she saw there was no tit for Tat.

                • If you guyz check the Brake pedal of the bike, It appears similar to what on CBZ Xtreme. And color of Rear Shox is same as on Hunk (It looks inverted to me)

But Tank appears to be little higher than the thigh level, And grab rail appears to be normal one, Not the split. Visor appears to be similar to ZMA. Full Chain Cover, Only premium bike with chain cover as of now is ZMA.

And rider's suit color. Blue color uniform is used by all servicemen in SVC of HERO HONDA. Yamaha & Honda use red. Not sure about Bajaj and TVS.

And is this P220 effect??? No Sir. , This can be wither way too.

PS: Been debugging some stupid code all the night, So this is the hangover

I dont know about the limitations, if any!

But Hero Honda is a JV between Hero India and Honda Japan with both the entities constituting 36% each, with the rest with public.

The technical aspect is handled by Honda which includes all the engines and all the related technical stuff
And the marketing, sales, service, dealer network etc are Hero's responsibility.

It looks like it has a full fairing though! I can also see a ladies' footrest from the side.
So, a premium segment bike which is good for ladies'&takes care of your back too!
Now lets see what they have tweaked on the performance front. If that has been done, all these things are secondary.
                      Quench my thirst with gasoline!

You're right about HH already having a Fi version of one of their bike, but tell me, exactly how often have you seen one on the roads?

It takes a lot of time and effort to tune an FI system to work with a particular engine, I've heard it may take upwards of a month on an expensive engine dyno setup. Now, it's not impossible that HH has such a setup and a team that's capable of dealing with it, but considering HHs track record, I'm betting they don't have it.

That would mean Honda would have to do all the hard work for HH to get an FI version of the Karizma, be it with a different engine or the same engine tuned. Considering the fact that HMSI seems to get more and more interested in pushing their products in the market here, I don't think they would be too inclined towards helping HH.

This is just my logic, everyone else is entitled to their opinions. And who knows, maybe we're about to get blow out of the water here.

                        • I cannot recall where I read that but I had surely read somewhere that since Honda were not helping HH upgrade the ZMA HH have themselves developed the FI system for karizma with some increase in the engine size. The thing that made me happy was that finally maybe HH are starting some R&D of their own. And I just hope HH dont price it way over the top like they did last time only to decrease it by grand 9k later to push the sales.

which is why i was asking if we have any detail on the exact nature and extent of assistance honda is obligated to provide HH, and also how much of independent work HH is allowed to undertake on Honda sourced engines.

in any case, given that honda is also an independent player in the indian market now, and will obviously be keen on pushing its own agenda and the fact that the HH JV is a publicly listed company, somehow to me, there seems to be a massive conflict of interest, with HH hugely at a disadvantage.

so unfortunately, i think there will not be any improvements or surprises engine/power wise in this new iteration of the ZMA. i would be glad if proved wrong.

in any case, HH needs to stop being just a glorified assembler, and start some serious engineering of its own, taking a leaf out of bajaj's and TVS's books.

@murajidesai2008 put a valid logical point about the bike....... our mod might have done some research of their own and are sure its Karizma(upgraded)........

anyways when can we expect this bike to be in the market........
