    well, i wouldn't go so far as to say that it looks like an R1 ! but, it was on display outside the showroom. and i saw it on two separate occasions there. why would a yamaha showroom display an aftermarket paint job? you never know these days though.

    and i'm not sure but i think i saw one of those zipping down the main road at kharghar. didn't see it long enough to be sure though.

    the thane showroom is on my way to the tvs svc, i'll try and take a photo if i see it there again.

      I've got all answers to your queries..
      The name of that showroom in thane is Aims Yamaha. I'd been there like a week ago when my cousin wanted to test ride R15. It is a custom painted bike which by the way looks very nice. If you look closely, it has a blue strip saying 'Aims Yamaha' on it on both sides.
      The bike is not for sale since it's only for test ride. So i guess if you've seen it in any other showroom, the case must be similar.

        Can an official dealer do that? display a custom mod paintjob which is not for sale? and i saw the same (or similarly painted) bike in kharghar. it's kinda unlikely (but still possible) that they would come all the way here for a test ride.

          Dude, It is just not today's story. From last year itself, Yamaha Dealers had been painting the R15 in Custom Colors, most of them were Yellow & Red Paintjobs.

          Dealers sold them at a premium of 15-20k more than the Stock R15. I myself saw a well painted Yellow R15 last year in Bike India.
          After all, its not illegal, right? You can paint any R15, and charge for that paintjob, provided that the customer is ready to pay for it...

                      the white stickering work done, at the left side of the fairing, above the head light, is similar to hydbiker(K.P) r15's stickering work..
                      anyways, i loved yellow..

                        The price is up by 1k here for all R15s (including the older blue one)..
                        The older red & black have been discontinued as per a dealer here..

                          The prices in kerala is also up by 1k...for all the colours featured in true racing colour catalog...i enquired them this for blue also which i dont see any change rather than the rim strips..so its too up by 1k...daylight robbery from yamaha...and the dealer here told that other colours are not discontinued...now they categorise as old R15 and new R15

                            I paid 109650 OTR Hyderabad for my bike. and the dealer clearly told me that the prices are same. Dunno if 109650 is 1k more or not, can anyone from hyd confirm?

                                I enquired in about the price of New one at Yamaha Factory Shop Malad W.Its 600 Rs more that's it.So total cost goes to 112600 something(dont remember the exact figure)
