A similar thing also is prevalent in the Korean companies. Namely LG and Samsung.
Indian people are treated like someone inferior. My friend was working there[LG]. And he left the company asap.

The Honda guy who was backing me in the showroom called today and asked me to cancel the booking and take something else as he said I am not gonna get my Dio for at least the next two months. Everyone else there and the Honda customer care guy are assuring delivery ASAP, but no one is ready to give an approx date. Every one saying ASAP or soon.

Finally decided to cancel booking and go for something readily available. Shortlisted Gladiator and RTR. Hero Honda also having delivery delay.

According to Maruti Suzuki Ex-head, the Gurgoan problem is due to 'outside forces'....Mr.Jagadish Khattar is a no nonsense man who knows the area very well....CBI should probe this in every angle (Political / Business etc etc)

^^^ a very apt news item. two guys known for their honesty & no-fuss behavior, from two different parts of the country speaking the same thing probably sends out a strong message about who is at fault - the management or the unions.

Honda to stop motorcycle production in Spain

Lately there have been reports about the global financial downturn finally dying out. News reports are continually emerging about how economies the world over are on an upswing and conditions are only set to improve. Well, Honda seems to believe otherwise.
The Japanese automotive marquee is planning to stop its motorcycle production in Spain. According to Honda the rationale behind this decision is the lack of demand for new motorcycles. Its existing factory located in Santa Perpetua will be involved in manufacturing injected plastic panels and various other ancillary units for the time being.
Honda also intends to reduce its workforce at the Spanish factory to just 180 workers from the current total of 340. The company plans to utilize its factory in Italy to fill any miniscule production void that might emerge owing to its decision.

With the void created especially in the scooter market (dominated by HMSI), Mahindra can now actually cash in with its range of "Power Scooters".

Currently Mahindra has been aggressively pushing TV campaigns to promote its scooters.

The HMSI management agreed to start performance reward scheme (bonus) and also improve the benefits to its employees.

Does this mean even costlier Honda products.....

Similar effects were seen after 2005 unrest as well...!

^^ Auto co's are making big time profits with govt's simulation package coupled with low raw material costs......so HMSI profit chunk will get slightly thinner ....product prices will not go up.....just my thoughts.

I appreciate the employees of the auto firms, who have the courage to fight against their management when some thing does not seem right, and I feel we should all support their right. After all it's a democratic country and salaried employees are the ones who pay their taxes full proof.
