^ exactly. the salesman pointed out that TVS is planning to change its arketing strategy in India with the launch of this bike. he also said they'll launch the bike by mid '10 and hopes to sell a lot esp in the rural areas. with leaks like these in TVS we'll know for sure when they'll launch the a- 250/220 ... oops.. yes he said that too

OT: you a big fan of southpark? the movie was ROTFLOL

        ^^^

ot-its nice to talk to another southpark fan...its very hard to find one!!

yeah...people here in north consider TVS as a sub-standard company...TVS needs to launch a whole new plan of how to make people believe in them just like they do in HH!!

they need to do with this bike what they did with RTR!!

@ ashes: yes I know how people treat Tvs up north... My uncle hails from Hridwar and has little/ no respect for TVS except for the TVS 50

Doubt if they will adopt the RTR's strategy. I've seen takers for TVS' s mileage bikes in the South. But HH will hold that segment till someone breaks the image. The salesamn told me the milegae figures are close to the 70's mark on road.

OT: I love Southpark, family guy and simpsons. Only stuff worth watching on TV IMHO besides Orange county Choppers

              It's a 4-speed one

OT: What's the transmission of HH Street ?

Is use of clutch for gear change really a problem..??

Its good to see TVS innovating.. but then is using the clutch for gear change such a big issue..??

In cities a scooters with a CVT transmissions (Activa, Scooty Pep) are already available as options.. and rural areas dont suffer from heavy traffic.

Is use of clutch for gear change really a problem..?? What do other guys think..??

It is a trouble in City traffic... especially those peak hour traffic jams. No clutch would be a boon.

I don't think it's really an important factor, especially when you already have variomatic transmission available. Wouldn't a bike without gears, would be bigger hit than a clutch less one?

@ rahul: Yes agreed. I wonder how people would downshift at lower speeds. any inputs. would it's auto clutch engage when the lever is slightly pressed down or something?

Auto gear is different. You don't get to choose how you want the power delivery and also the mileage problem.

In Clutch less system you can choose which gear you want to be in. You get better mileage. What TVS is giving is a Motorcycle as against the auto geared scooters. So, you get a Motorcycle, you get good mileage and no hassle of clutch. There's a point there. But gotta see how well that would be received in the market.

If I remember from what I read about the HH Street, the bike starts pulling in any gear. Not quite sure how good that pull would be and also about the downshift thing. One thing is sure that you can downshift at any speed. How it works is what I don't know.
