It was just a matter of time....!
Probably Rodeo and Duro compelled them....
Anyways feels like a good move but the problem would be the pricing..?
Already Activa sells at a premium price tag of more than 45-46k on road
and Aviator being a premium product would make this scooter close to 50k (which by any means is costly for this engine) in direct competition to the Suzuki Access, which is a better scooter than the 110cc Activa....!
Moreover, what is the update on the labour unrest issue...?
Have they sorted it out.2002 - Pulsar 150 Classic (Still owned)
2005 - Pulsar 150 Dtsi (Still owned)
2006 - Eterno (sold)
2008 - Dio (Owned)
2009 - Pulsar 220 DTSi

Some important features of new Aviator.
Grandeur Masculine Style ( New)
The styling of the New Aviator makes it look sophisticated and luxurious. The deluxe variant has an elegant front-cover chrome, body-color grab, instrument panel garnish and inner cover painted in order to add to the style and premium appeal of the scooter. Along with these, the scooter also has alloy wheels and leaves a lasting impression with its attractive looks.
Economy with 110cc Honda Engine (New)
The New 110cc engine in the New Aviator delivers a power of 8 bhp. The proven Honda engine not only offers smooth performance but also consumes less fuel. It is 15% more economical than the earlier model.
Comfort
Combi-Brake (New): In the conventional braking system, when the left brake lever is applied, only the rear brake gets activated. However, in case of Combi-brake system, front and rear brakes get activated jointly when the left lever is applied. This reduces the braking distance and is a very important comfort and safety feature for all types of riders.
Telescopic Front Suspension: The New Aviator boasts of a high quality telescopic front suspension to achieve smoother handling, lower vibration and more stable high-speed control.
Comfortable Sitting Posture: The New Aviator seat has been designed to provide a comfortable upright seating position.
Front Disc Brake with 3 piston calipers – The 190 mm disc brake at front ( Dlx Variant), provides responsive braking control resulting in assured swift stop.
Convenience
Viscous air filter (New): It is more efficient in catching the dust particles which prolongs the filter life. Thus, it lessens the maintenance expense as it requires less frequent replacement and no cleaning.
Maintenance-Free battery (New): The newly adopted battery makes use of Honda global technology. It is non-leaking and battery life is more than conventional battery.
Tuff Up tube – Honda Patented puncture resistant tuff up tube in rear tyre minimizes the incidents of sudden punctures to the extent of 70%.

Honda is fooling the indian customer. They are trying to make quick bucks by pricing ridiculously higher for a few features. Honda Siel started this and now Honda two wheelers. See how the Stunner FI is ridiculously priced.Originally posted by chicane1879 View Post^^+1
Honda and HH are playing the same cards with different names in the market. Damn!!
But who am i to complain cause it works oh so well!!
A premium of 5k for just a 110 cc engine upgrade (they have charged a nominal 2k rise in Activa for the same upgrade), a viscous filter, non-maintenance battery is really ridiculous. They are just making money in the name of Premium features, which are actually not.
I hoped Suzuki to be a tough competitor for Honda and they are not doing anything.

Bro, too many bookings for Activa does mean that Aviator is at a small stake. Activa update might not have been logical. But Aviator's update was logical and well expected.Originally posted by Technocrat View PostI dont understand this, they cant even sustain or service current Bookings due to the labor issues, whats the point in launching an upgrade?
It means new Aviator might become the best gearless scooter, given its telescopic forks and the revolutionary engine from Activa ...
Although, a great move on Honda's part, it was expected anyway all these times...---

Here is the clarification:
Why Combi-Brake means more safety?
In two wheelers (scooters and bikes), there are two separate brake controls for front and rear wheels. This is true for almost all two-wheelers that I have ever seen or ridden. Most of two-wheeler riders apply only rear wheel brake, or use only rear brake in most of the cases. However for most effective braking and stopping in small distance safely without loosing control, both front and rear brakes should be used together. Most people fear using front brakes too much because if you press them too hard, the scooter/bike may skid and the rider will fall badly.
Combi-Brakes will apply the front-brakes in the correct amount whenever rear brakes are applied, so it will apply both brakes when you apply only rear one. This means that the scooter rider need not worry about using front brakes, they will be used in correct amount automatically when the rear brakes are used. See the image above, the highlighted green area shows how they have put an extra-cable to brake lever control of Honda-Activa 2009 to make combi-brakes work.Last edited by ravi@17bhp; 10-29-2009, 12:13 AM.HH Karizma (Current) || CBF Stunner PGM-FI || Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler
