The owner would just be proud that he got the fastest car in the world and just for that there are some souls who would love to buy it (I would definitely buy one if I have lots of money).

Nobody would even dream to do the top speed on Indian roads. You cannot even do that on any foreign roads. The top speed of this car is tested only on a private track.

People may buy it for its acceleration (not the top speed). 0-100 in 2.7 sec and 0-200 in 7.3 sec.

Some of the Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 supercar's facts and figures.

253 mph - The electronically limited top speed.

257 mph - The theoretical top speed, on a perfect run.

2.3 mpg - Fuel economy when running at full speed

12 minutes - The time it takes to empty the fuel tank at top speed

51 miles - The distance covered while emptying the tank

      0 - 60 mph - 3 seconds

      0 - 125 mph - 7.3 seconds

      0 - 187 mph - 16.7 seconds

      0 - 250 mph - 55 seconds

      250 - 0 mph - 9.8 seconds

never in the wildest dreams man!!! Lambo does around 3-4 cars a year in India.

So I wud suggest goin for the Fastest production bike at a much lesser or no trouble relatively rather than the Fastest production car.Atleast I wud get to see the 400+kmph speeds and die peacefully widout leaving unpaid bills

A BMW M3 is Ok but this!!! NO NO.........until and unless I am fortunate enough to have a personal Gulfstream V and a private aerodrome !!!!!!

However Thanks to Volkswagen for their great gift to India
Would agree and disagree with your points. Rich folks having a passion for cars will go to any extent in getting the best set of wheels for themselves. They wont be riding around on 2 wheels however expensive it may be. There was already news about a couple of Veyrons in India, one in Delhi and the other in Bangy. Morover the Veyron will cost mch more than 5 crores in India, plus the LHD to RHD conversion is going to cost a bomb
You can take the ride away from me but you cannot take the rider out of my soul.........

This is not the fastest production car. The Mclaren F1 being outdated beats this in a quater mile by meters.. However after that the Bugatti takes the lead due to its Technolgy. Wished the legendry Mclaren F1 had this Technology

I crossed my half century with this post. I have good strike rate... hehehheh

the answer to this question is the same as it is to the question "why even make such a car?"

To boost brand image of Volkswagen and to show that you have the technological expertise to do it.

Volkswagen never made this car to sell even a single piece. They did this as an engineering marvel. With money pool as big as the pacific ocean you can have one sitting in your garage too. Think of it as buying a very expensive painting. No purpose...just flaunt.

12 crores or 120.. this is will sell... 1 every month or two may be
                  2 Veyrons every month ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????????????????????

No it's not... Try google search.. But still this car is a beast and has to respected in every sense. Even the fastest car that beats this only does it by some .5 miles.

Somehow I don't like this car. For the same reason for which I don't like Triumph Rocket III.
Too much is not always good...

Flaunting is possible, but on which roads is it's top speed legal, @ 400 kmph.
I know people are expected to control themselves accd. to street rules, but isn't this still too high...?

Even on racetracks, it hardly makes sense, except for clocking fast lap times.
You would hardly get another Veyron owner to race with, given the rarity of this car, and defeating slower cars makes no competitional sense...

Once it was the fastest production car. In the recent past there are other cars that topped faster speeds but only marginally. I will not mind if you name the fastest car. Try google.

I stand corrected if the other authentic sources say it is 12 min.

its top speed was tested by top gear magazine in company's test track, where they said that @top speed, the tyres last for 15mins and the fuel lasts for 12mins (12 mins 43sec to be pricise). and if u still want to believe its 55sec, i have nothing to say..
about fastest car, it is the shelby's ssc ultimate aero which produces 1183bhp and has a guiness recorded top speed of about 414kmph.. and 7kmph more at that high speeds, is no marginal.
but another car named TKR by barabus, which produces 1005bhp, been unveiled and the company has claimed 0to97kmph in 1.67sec! and top speed of 270mph!! but it is yet to be tested
