For those who r wondering as to why the government is forcing us to wear helmets and not letting us look after our own heads, well, let me remind you that there is a rule that prevents you from committing suicide.

The helmet compulsion should be considered as an extension to that rule.

A helmet can save you from MOST of the head injuries.

Believe me, I've worked for many years in the casualty, trauma, orthopedic & intensive departments of many large hospitals of Mumbai.

Remember fractures however bad usually heal but brain damage however small is PERMANENT as neurons (brain cells) do not divide and are very difficult to regenerate.
Tell me what would u prefer, a small loss in the range of movements of your shoulder or a small loss in the control of your bowel & bladder functions ($hitting & pissing leakages I mean !!)

i was just telling you the consequences.
the rest part was because i had the attitude to come op in life, from ground zero.
I did it coz ihad the attitude.
may not be the same with everybody.
AS bikefreak said, fractures and wounds can be healed.
        But not neuron damage.
Suppose u don't have a single fracture in your body and u are completely paralysed.
I will be hell pal, really hell.
        I had suffered a near situation.That's why i say.
If you are paralysed for life, who is going to suffer?
You, your parents, your family, your friends, etc etc.
you will wish for death.Am for sure.
Any way,do your contribution as i mentioned before.

Powerslave, buddy,i was :Second in state youth festival for English elocution(1995-class tenth)
Third in hindi, and i am very much sad that i can't speak up properly, eventhough i have the appropriate word in mind and when people stare at me when i speak.
i feel dissappointed when people keep their phones down when i ring them up to enquire abt something.
i worked out in the gym for three years, seriously, without fail and am truly sad that i am not even able to do a benchpress (even a 40 kg !) properly coz my sockets can jump out of place any time.
marriage proposals get deterred when the girl sees that i have stammering(they don't tell me, i can guess it out)
If i had worn a helmet, this disability will not have been there.

        Any way,i recommend a helmet.
Wear it or not, its upto you.
You decide your future pal.not me.

Hey no offense man. I was messing around, I'm glad you were able to do what you did. And to come up in life inspite of such a tragedy is commendable..
Good to hear a happy ending to your story.

Helmets are a must. Safety comes first at any cost. The quicker we understand the better its gonna be for Indian bikers. My helmet saved my life on 16th Jan. in a Xbhp Delhi G2G. I was riding a pillion. I came out with minor scratches and a few stitches. The rule of mandatory usage of helmets for both the rider and the pillion is in force in Delhi and Calcutta for a few years now. It should be made mandatory all over the nation.

                    i too agree with that.
powerslave, man, it is just the beginning.
                    watchout for more.
from my life what i have learned is that i have so many things left to do before i go.
i liked your comment anyway.felt at some point it was not conceived the right way.
i was fearing whether you would take me as some silly guy saying fundas.
