honda's bikes and scooters have enjoyed sucess mainly bcoz of word of mouth, look at the activa and dio ,it has been the same since 10 years and plp still buy them ,girls go for activa even though their legs cant reach the ground.
honda has taken indians for granted ,they will learn their lesson soon.

^^Until there is a stiff competition (neck to neck) from other players, Honda will enjoy the success. I do not see any competition to them (Suzuki would have been a tough competitor, but surprisingly Suzuki seems not much interested in two-wheeler market in India).

As such, I do not see anything wrong with Honda products. They are serving very well the common consumer at which they are aimed. The commuter segment drives by mileage and reliability. You cannot bump up power figures every year to make upgrades. In fact, Honda has passed on the latest technology with 110 cc engine (in scooter segment), which has more power as well as more fuel efficient.

You can dig at Honda for not paying heed to the performance segment in India.

+1 to that. Totally agree with the segment like executive commuter etc.

!! The leg thing. Anyway, hard to say who is taking who for granted. Considering consumer has a mentality like "Its a Honda man". Y'know, taking it for granted that it the best deal.

..and consumer is not wrong!! They can take Honda for granted when it comes to quality and reliability more than any other Indian company, whatever they launch, commuter or sport oriented!! Some may not like their approach though, simple.

But yeah, Unicorn upgrade is irritatingly long over dew and I wud wait for few months, 'cause this time i m really expecting a new Unicorn/150 or above

10k more than current uni's .. what are they giving additional with that 10 k .. can we expect srs engine upgrade..... or 10 k just for installing plastics here and there and then painting it maroon .. i dont know how much it is worth it to wait for it ...

CAUTION : dudes planning a new bike at this time wait at ur own risk ! u may want to skip this DODO if all the points which are under srs cursing in this thread came out to be true ; means NO engine upgrade!

it has been already stated abt irritability in expecting unicorn's engine upgrade .. what they have in it for us to enjoy .... PLASTICS !

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India Limited is ready to launch the new variant Honda CB Dazzler in the Indian market. The new CB Dazzler is basically the Unicorn Sports Concept model that was showcased earlier at the Delhi Auto Expo 2010. The new model will be launched on May 08 2010 and will feature more cosmetic and mechanical features than shown in Unicorn Sports Concept at the Auto Show.

The new bike is expected to feature technical features like torque and power output similar to the one shown at the Auto Expo. The major visible difference is the front and rear disc brakes as compared to earlier drum brakes featured in the concept model along with a digital tachometer. The bike is expected to be priced around Rs. 10,000 more than the existing model.

The new CB Dazzler will compete with TVS Apache, Bajaj Pulsar, and Yamaha R15 models in the Indian market which are the leaders in their segment.
