I seriously doubt it will be manufacturing plant (heck with a capital of 5crores? ) It would rather be a show off assembly line within Bajajs existing one and all.

        @ dushyant
Mate I highly doubt that! It will most likely feature P220 engine with oil-cooler rather then a water cooled 250 V-twin.
        When in doubt...... Gas it!

300 or 600, I wish to see twin cylinders; no more single cylinder. But this a very very good move. Suzuki, Honda & Yamaha are venturing out independently, while Kawasaki is holding the hands with Bajaj & are playing a bigger games in what segment of motorcycle this country is missing; and again, they're not bringing in the CBU's which are most expensive & they're not setting up their factory which is a huge investment for them; looks like they're combining the best of both worlds in terms of CKD's; good for them, good for us.

i think they will be setting up a new facility for assembling of vehicles.....
with harley giving a 883c.c. bike in less than 7 lacs these guys if they ever bring in bikes like zr6 and other 600 c.c. will have to put a price tag of less than 5-6 lakhs. just by doing this they will enter and create a new segment in the indian biking industry which is going to be a boon for bikers like me........

well if i am not wrong the import duty on cbu is 104% while ate the same time that on spare parts or the ckds are 30% so if zx6r which cost around 10k USD in US will cost somewhere around 13k USD or 5.85lacs taking an excahnge rate of 45 into account plus the on road charges will make the bike somewhere around 6.5-6.7 lacs......

                        so guys start saving.......

Capital of 5crores its hardly an investment, unless they plan to buy new tools for Bajajs assembly lines for assembling the bigger bikes!

5 crores is the cost of setting up an office in India and all other related costs which comes with doing that. From where things stand right now, they will continue to use Bajaj's factory to assemble.
