@abhi the point of view you put up for some upgrade in terms of engine or its performance is right. also the price kept @70000 is not of commuter segment at all.. i dont know why honda has come up with such a heavy price tag even though they are aware that yesterday only BAL has launched a new variant of Disco 150. which is a sure shot for commuter segment only & @ prices tag of 46000 only (unbelievable) however we should not go for Brand war here..

A 70,000 segment is not a commuter(only) segment. I think Unicorn's mileage is still between 55-60kmpl which is not great at all. My 180cc Pulsar gives me 50kmpl and once it gave 56kmpl with a showroom price of 65K(approx)Rs.
hey dude, seems i wrongly stated my text. all i typed was just my opinion on indian commuters mentality... i agree with ur point of 70K for uni with commuter engine specs.. all i wanted to say is here graphics and price tag sells more than anything..

            Guys, I agree with Honda's naming 100 PER CENT:-->

            1. Twister: It twisted the 100cc segment's rules a bit, didn't it?

            2. Stunner: It's "looks" are stunning for a 125, isn't it?

            3. Dazzler: It will dazzle you, NOT with its CC (Cubic Capacity), but with its CCC (Colorful Color Combinations)

After all, Check "dazzle" in dictionary, it doesn't mean "fast", does it?
So, Honda didn't lie after all...

I am not going into arguements but just placing some facts here.
Honda CB Unicorn in its present design appeals most when it comes to considering middle class men with a mind for mileage.Honda Dazzler, they wont buy-out of shyness. This product would be bought by power hungry youths, who at every instance wants to twist the throttle and go ahead.FZ16 from Yamaha is a radical design, it can never be compared to the Dazzler. At 14.2 bhp its more powerful than the present Unicorn. Its a torquey mill with FZ16 with a lot of low-end.But truly speaking in my city I found more takers for R15 rather than FZ16, and most of the customers for bikes are youths, professional or student, no middle aged men for heed to fuel efficiency.

Honda never needed to bump up the cc for more power, they could have just plonked the CBR150R engine in it,just as Hero Honda used the CRF230 engine for the Karizma.Karizma is a success,CB Dazzler would also be similar if treated the same way.At 70,000, youths as such would expect something more.

Lastly, how would one feel when a Pulsar135LS,would fly past the CB Dazzler with all its flashy design. The product with all its price, size and weight would seem all but "All Show and No Go"...............a very big disappointment.I wonder how OEMs judge the market from their surveys. Those surveys seems so incomplete and inadequate for the real picture, done in a very lazy and comfortable way within even a lesser than a quarter fraction of the biking population.

Yamaha wanted a basic 150cc with its own identity, with an air that will be only a Yamaha. Thus is FZ16.

              Yamaha-FZ16
              Bajaj-Pulsar 150 DTSi
              Hero Honda- Hunk
              TVS- Apache RTR
              Suzuki-GS150R
              Honda-CB Unicorn

Each bike is a basic 150 which defines its manufacturer's focus and nature to the core.
Honda has already been defined by Unicorn,CB Dazzler with the same mill wont make any difference. They need to redefine it by showing the other aspect of Honda, that is performance.

The Dazzler's price is INR 62900, Ex-Showroom Delhi. Focus is on Mileage more than power. Honda is harping about a mileage of 60 KMPL.

The engine remains same but the power output is now 14 Bhp. 17 inch alloy wheels. Disc brakes, both at front and rear. Floating cowl like the CB Twister's. 110/80 rear tire.

Predictably, on the whole, only a cosmetic makeover.

                    Cheers,

                    Jay

That makes it no better than the already ridden and owned bikes of Hero Honda, CBZ-Xtreme and Hunk.I would vouch for the better looking and styled Hunk anyday, anytime, with its high quality levels.

I expected this Bike to be priced at 70K but it is priced at around 62k which is within my budget first had thought of going for Gs150R But this has added to the option and hey no issues if it get a cosmetic makeover i like it a bit.engine is good and in city i hardly ride at speed more than 60 don't know so many horses.

But The waiting time is what kills me in Honda. I am thinking of going to Honda showroom will try to garner some details but 70Kmpl is too much for a 150CC i will say anything around 55+ is gold for this bike and Rear Discs are option then the price will be a few thousands etc.

But they could have named something else than Dazller a lipstick name lol.
