I can answer some of these questions:Originally posted by sportyguysunny View PostSome other things my free revving mind happened to notice at the Toyota stall.
1)It seems like Kenda and most others didn't notice the all new corolla at the toyota stall.
The new features in it being side skirts, a rear spoiler & new alloy wheels.
(Sumone seems to be taking cues from hero honda it seems
)
2) What M.G. and I found pretty strange was that the Prius had been given the corner most place in the stall. (wasn't this supposed to be the year of environment friendly technologies?). We had to dig in very deep to make the toyota people speak about the tentative launch date which could very well be in this very financial year
.
3)They still kept their mouths zipped up when it came to the pricing of Etios/ Prius. The only info being that the Prius is being imported as a CBU, so I don't expect many people to turn environment friendly with a costly toyota Hybrid.
4)There was no word from Toyota on the specs of the Engines of any new cars other than their engine capacity.
5) The last and the most weird thing was that Even on the press launch people were not allowed to touch or sit inside the Etios/Prius. Pretty strange considering the fact that Toyota is about to launch these vehicles in the very near future. How can a manufacturer get a detailed feedback on its vehicle if the prospective customers can't even touch the vehicle?
Whether it was a marketing strategy or a strategic error i'm not too sure.
1) Toyota Corolla is an executive sedan and has practically remained the same overtime,evry1 knows its a Honda Civic rival so it will do whatever to get sporty to compliment its own powerful engine. So its a story of all show with no new go.....umm maybe evry1 wont be interested to see it first hand, compared to the new launches.
2)Theres this eco drive but still people are MAD,crazy, performance mongers and in India its at a budget. So its better to place a 23 lacs ex-showroom CBU with average power in the corner.Yes very true that its a hybrid car, also its true that Indian market wont be ready for it.
Just as one of my pals told me, 'kya technology hai???? teish lakh ka gaadi pani se chalti hai !!!!! kuch speed hai ki nehi????'
I told him 'arey mera baat toh.......'
He told'chup kar, abey is kimat pe toh mera Esteem F1 car ban jayega, aur Eco Eco maat kar,har chota gaadi petrol se chalti hai yahaan,ek do paani pe chalne wali gaadi environment ko pura pura bishuddh nehi bana dega!!!!!!!'
No reason however logical doesnt hold after this.
3)I have heard a word of two about the Etios hatchback price, its gonna be in the Swift territory.About the Prius, look above.
4)Toyota people told the engine capacities in ltrs at unveiling, 1.2ltr for the hatchback,1.5ltr for the Sedan.............power can be determined from the similar spec engines working on the Yaris and the Yaris Sedan(also called Corona in some place).
5)They were just being exclusive and high nosed about it.........nothing serious. The cars wont cause Swine flu if touched accidentally, neither it would melt away by humble human hands. They were being exclusive just like pretty girls
@Haxor...........I understand......in my city there are too many Jazzes(being such a new launch!!!!),hundreds more City. But both Etios and Etios Sedan would be excellent VFMs if not exceptional.Etios have features like and better than Swift and would be priced so,Etios Sedan would be in the Honda City territory. Now if their rivals can have market in our budget crazy country then Etios twins are certainly interesting facts.

6th of January was a great day. Thanks a lot to Augusta as well. Though his photographs do not appear, but he did a great job, on two days. Thanks a lot to Mohit as well. No photos of him either. The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Faster and Faster: KTM vs Suzuki: 125cc GP racer vs 1000cc superbike…?
However I am more than happy to see Mahindra's thoughts towards Bikes, rest assured Mahindra is just pullin crowds like Suzuki does displaying a Hayabusa to their stalls,so though the machine is marvelous, its not coming to commoners in near future.By the time it would make to market,KTM would be in the market from Bajaj stables with their own 125cc 2S.Nothing would be exclusive then
Now I am freaking feeling crazy about my 95 Shogun,I am gonna apply some drastic things to the engine now hehehehehehe
