They won't do it, as the RS and AS are newly launched why would pulsar hamper the sales of the newly launched 200 twins.

Speculations were like the the 400Cs/rs/ss will be launched in 1.5-1.8L bucket. Will this not be a threat to the the rs200 itself ?

If they wanted to launch, they would have skipped the 200 and launched the 400 itself when they introduce them at auto expo as near production ready motorcycles.

                Cheers,
                Sanjay

If the bikes are in two categories and price is set accordingly, then why would it affect their other products like AS200/RS200. People will have a better choice to look for in that situation. If this is the logic then Yamaha and Honda or any manufactures would make only one category product. If we look at KTM alone, they have bikes starting from 125cc to 1250cc and more.

Quoting an old post. I happen to see the Ducati Diavel in videos and suddenly it clicked my mind after seeing the console that I have seen this somewhere else and then I remembered CS400!!!! CS400 will be the poor man's Diavel! Then the body shape and rear end and the tail lamps are a small version of Diavel. Diavel is love at first sight. CS400 was also a surprise from Bajaj. Bajaj C'mon release this already!!

i'll be first in line to buy a CS400.

Bajaj (and every other manufacturer) have been milking the market for the past 15 years.

they came out with a 180 almost 14 years ago... and they're still stuck at 200cc right now.

third world markets get third world engineers.

while there are proposterous taxes on proper big bikes in the name of protecting local manufacters.

                      indian motor companies deserve nothing.

bikes made in india will ALWAYS be rubbish compared to world markets.

for the next 20 years atleast.

i really doubt the existence of a CS400.

talk is cheap. and indian cos have a lot of it.

screw the CS400 and let the japs import sub 600cc bikes at lower rates coz indian cos have zero talent to make anything that comes close.

the CS400 seems like a pipe dream right now.

Mate - STOP making such comments....Let me talk about Bajaj - and note that I currently ride a TRIUMPH STREET TRIPLE 675 - so I know somethings about bikes...

Please understand - Bajaj is running a business which has to be profitable. And it is a seriously tough thing to achieve. But they have been able to be successful - that is how they have been able to purchase a significant stake in KTM - who could have imagined that few years ago?

Thanks to Bajaj, Indian people who were looking for affordable, easy to maintain performance motorcycles 150 cc and higher could realise their dreams....

I bought very first model of Pulsar 180 DTSi in Feb-2004 - now it is old and rather battered....But its engine is still peppy and even new 150 cc bikes still can't beat this old 180 cc DTSi bike. I haven't sold it - my brother is using it even today after 11 years....

Only due to Bajaj, we have seen KTM prospering in India and abroad...I am a big fan of KTM Duke bikes having owned it for last 3.5 years and recently moved to Triumph.

But if KTM-Bajaj alliance had brought in Duke 690 or some such bike, I would have surely thought about buying that...

On its own, KTM didn't stand as much chance in India - please see whether Yamaha R3 or Kawasaki Ninja 300 are able to sell compared to KTM...Those are not bad bikes...But Bajaj's frugal engineering allows them to be reasonably priced - something we can actually buy and maintain - not just dream about them and stick their posters on our room walls!

There are many reasons why they are waiting for CS400 (or whatever they will actually call it). Please understand - due to bad monsoon, auto market including 2 wheelers is largely affected. At such point of time, and also when competition is heating up, probably they are playing safe by letting KTM dominate the premium scene -as even that still passes on significant benefit to Bajaj.

There are few more products coming in 250-500 cc segment. Bajaj might play really smart and give a value for money product just when everybody might go ga-ga about BMW G310 etc and make life tough for new entrants precisely when it can hurt them.

Allowing uncontrolled imports of superbikes to India is not necessarily wise - even though someone like me may personally benefit due to such things...I hope that MAKE IN INDIA compels people to produce really good bikes within India.

See, if DC can bring AVANTI in CAR segment, surely someone will make it big in BIKES one day...I would love to own an Indian branded superbike that can give me same enjoyment at 50-60% of the price of a foreign made superbike...I bought Triumph because there are no Indian options in this segment now - and I can't wait too long...

Being negative is not going make any positive change....Positive change is always much slower...Indian bike makers will evolve slowly for now - but once superbike market really has a solid mass, they will surely up the game...Definitely there is scope in India for superbikes...

I think launch is very near.

Bajaj Auto has hinted that its next launch will be a bigger motorcycle than anything it is currently offering. This could mean that the company is planning to introduce the production version of Pulsar ...

Finger Crossed. But I hope they launch with full time ABS and not only on rear wheel ABS like Pulsar 200. Also wish they make it suitable for city riding.
