Suffer. . ? Hope you have ridden the NS before commenting on this. . . Bajaj have improved very much in their quality, if not being the best, they have improved it far far better than their previous generation pulsars. . . Ride both the old pulsar and the latest NS to know the difference. . . Hope they keep improving in the same way and one day, we'll have the best long-term reliable products from them. . .

Looking at the both bikes, i.e., CS400 and SS400, it looks like they have improved furthermore in their quality, at least more than what's on the NS presently. . . Anyways, seeing it in our own eyes and long-term reviews will let us know how they are. . .

      Cheers!!!

True that. But some people views still belong to a different era.

By the way the Pulsar 135LS was the first product that gave glimpses of the change. That cute little "revvy" thing can scream to its redline happily and would handle like a sweet dream. The 200NS is an altogether different level.. armed with the KTM shared engine and that awesome Perimeter frame.

Slight amount of resonance vibrations do creep up (in the P135LS/200NS) at certain rpms ranges.. but nothing alarming as the engine is still eager to revv all day long.

By the way I have ridden 200NS which has crossed 30,000 Plus Kms of hard riding.. and the engine still feels like new..!! Something that I will agree wasn't true for older gen Pulsars.

          Yes sir,
I agree that bajaj has improved a lot. But after spending 1lac+ , as a consumer I want the best.
And product quality is not the only thing I am talking about, service quality is also an important point. I want to share my experience about bajaj, yesterday i went to TCS bajaj in Faridabad along with my friend because his NS had some sort of noise coming while starting and was also giving missing something problem, so after the jobcard was made, the guy who made the job card asked 'Isse start kaise krte hain??', after that He asked 'Gear kaise change krte hain, saare aage hain kya??' , After that when he started to move, he was not able to find the neutral and Me and my friend were like WTF??
Where as I don't think this would have happened to any of the Honda ir yamaha ASC.

Simple.. DON'T BUY if you have doubt.

There are people who still put down 1.5-2.0 lakhs (and wait for 6-12 months for delivery) for a Royal Enfield which might leak someday. Different Folks, different Strokes.

Its a Free Market aint it?

You are exactly right and that's the reason I asked them as to if they have ridden the bike before commenting on this. . . Since then and now, people consider pulsars as crappy stuff by Bajaj that goes kaput in just one to two years. . . Yes many of them have had complaints regarding this in the past but BAL have taken care of it and they are still working towards it. . .

I think I read the following in some news but don't remember it completely though, it was said that BAL had a total of around 200-300 defective products back then, now just around 20 or so and the company said that they will not rest until they bring it to 1 or 0. . . This is development and soon people will learn only after they have ridden both these or own one. . . Defective products in the sense, some small errors while manufacturing. . .

              Cheers!!!

Yes, BAL is targeting 2016 for the same. People's opinion will also change with time.

Let me just make the first one simple to you, our people mentality. . . We want all the best stuffs and also we want the pricing to be low, but unfortunately it's not possible. . . The higher you pay, the better quality you get. . . Bajaj and other companies are trying their best to fulfill our wishes, but still error definitely happens. . . But eh tell me which foreign company gives us a 200cc bike for 1lac. . ? The Yamaha R15 costs 1.30+ lacs, Honda CBR 150R costs 1.45 lacs, being a 150cc bike and their 250cc is above 2 lac, . . Bajaj have planned all and almost cut the price and given their best to us, that can equally match foreign companies. . . Who's better. . ?

even if the bike has little problems, you won't be spending all the parts, in fact the cost of the parts are also. . . Everything is done keeping India in mind. . .

Now coming to your service, I seriously don't understand how in the hell did they take him to the service center, you should complain to the respective persons regarding this cos giving your bike to a noob doesn't guarantee that the bike's problem will be solved. . . About service center problems, yes there are many companies to complain about even Honda, it's pathetic. . . About NS my friend had a problem in his NS and he took me to another SVC where a person I know is the manager of the service department, . . The work was done perfectly after I spoke to him. . . He now goes there itself. . . The next time you face such issues, please complain to the respective persons and to take your bike away to another SVC where proper mechanics are there, you don't want to welcome more troubles giving your bike to a noob. . .

Sorry if the post is big. . .

PS: I am the guy who had the same feeling towards Bajaj and changed my opinion after doing research, riding their bikes, gaining experience and so on , . .

                  Cheers!!!

That news was updated by Samarth in this forum after he visited the Bajaj plant for some design related project work for his students. We need to search that post.

Bajaj made significant strides in quality after they became major shareholder of KTM. KTM has explained Bajaj why quality is important to be maintained...to ensure customers trust your product. They were surprised to see the even for Bajajs flagship product the quality was not upto mark. (Again this was from a international news article which was shared in this forum by payeng..?)

Also Kawasaki selling 200NS under its brand in SE Asia itself speaks on the quality of Bajaj products

After 4-5 years now we can see that Bajaj has infact learned a lot and also implemented their learnings into their product. Now lets wait few more years and see where they reach.

                      Here is that thread BTW,

                      http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/268...ml#post1024657. . .

Wait I was wrong in my above sentence, let me correct it and paste the same as posted by Samarth bhai. . .

Bajaj has no intention of making performance kits for older Pulsars, just because the level of precision they have at the factory can't be replicated at the typical Probiking SVC.
For example, Bores are measured to 1/100th of a millimeter. That means, according to present Bajaj Auto, even 56.01mm Bore is detectable for a standard of 56mm Bore. From as large as 1036 defectives/ unit of time in 2003, the defectives are as low as 4 in 2013 now, and 0 is their target for 2015.
They're very forward looking and quality conscious. . .

                      So that means I said 700-800 less defective products . . .

Anyways, this is for those who still think BAL hasn't improved in their quality. . .

                      Cheers!!!

All service centers from all two wheeler companies are crap.

Take your bike to a Good service center like Kirti Nagar, Okhla or Swadeshi at Shalimar Bagh.

And buddy if you are talking about service, try Driving into a Skoda service center with your 15L+ Skoda or how about a 5L+ Hyosung bike or a 10L+ Harley and why not a 18L+ Ducati? All of them suck.

CS400 is so god damn beautiful.
Bajaj has come a long way, with NS they certainly have improved the ride quality, so I really think they won't be going backwards with the 400cc bikes.
Someone here mentioned that they need to improve their service, everyone will agree with that.
We will be spoilt for choice this year with R25,HX250 and the pulsars.
I can't wait to see how Yamaha tries to stay in the race, price wise, with its new launch.
