Life is like riding a bike. It is impossible to maintain your balance while standing still.

        • @Sunny/OF/Sunil G/ Shailay: What would be the approximate time the team would be reaching Delhi? There might just be a dhaba G2G in the early hours on Sunday morning (0730 hrs.), by any chance the team can be in Delhi before that?

There has been a change in the scenario concerning our arrival in Delhi. We are not riding in. The bikes are being transported by truck from Pune. We are traveling in the support vehicle, presently somewhere near Surat on NH8 as I type this post.

We decided to transport the bikes for two primary reasons. 1. We had already done the Pune - Delhi ride twice before....once when we went to Mumbai for the official flag-off and second when we returned to Delhi for the event. So doing the same stretch the third time over made little sense. 2. The weather....its getting hotter by the day and it would have been like pushing both ourselves and the bikes if we were to ride in in this heat. More than us it was the bikes actually as they HAVE to be on display at the finals on the 22nd.

The full circle had been completed in Pune and we were helped by the DSG people in securing a reliable transporter who regularly transports sbk's across the country to ferry our bikes.

So, it would be rather difficult to precisely predict our time of arrival on the 19th. And being in the van would be an anti-climax when you all would be riding.

            Will keep you updated though.

                    • "khrazee man..its khrazee, how do you guys manage to maintain it fau sso la'ng..??" said Rishad Daruwala to Old Fox in his canadian accent. "Didnt you enjoy young man?" asked Sandeep sir. "Yeah, I enjoyed it. My muscles fyeel as I've been workin' out since mo'rning man", sighed he, putting back his 'pillion helmet' into the support van, with thanks.
On March 14th, the Castrol guy decided to travel with us and get a taste, for one day, of what had been doing for so many days. The words came out pretty naturally after braving 360+ odd kms between Agra and Lucknow, partly at 80 kph in the support van and mostly at 150 kph with Old fox on you know what.
A month later, today, on April 16th, we sit in our hotel rooms in Ahmedabad planning for our journey back home in the support van, the bikes being already sent to Delhi in a container via road on 15th morning. Today, while we were booking the hotel in Ahmedabad online, it was a bit strange feeling that no more now we need to arrange for a hotel that had 'dedicated secured parking facility'. The everyday story of dirty boots, wet jackets, corpses of those 'highway insects' on the visors.....no more. Yes the ride for Passion Hunt, or what some of us call it, the GIR II, which gave us and fellow riders all over the country a chance to get connected through that sheer passion for biking, is statistically over..
Before the preparations for the Mega Final event goes into full throttle mode, we would like to thank everyone who was accociated with the ride in any capacity . Thank you readers and visitors to the website, riders who participated in the events, who accompanied them, those who rode with us, who helped us with the directions and places, people who criticized us, people who admired us, people who worked with us....thank you everyone on behalf of the entire team for helping us make it a success...And also thank you everyone else at xBhp.com for the admiration and support without which the motivation levels couldn't have been the same...

Well...the updates, we are right now in Ahmedabad. Will be in the city on Apr 17th and will leave on 18th. With an overnight stay somewhere near Bilwada or Chittorgarh, we plan to reach Delhi on 19th.

Without doubt, the Passion Hunt was the harbinger for this ride. But in addition, for us, this meant a lot more than that. This ride had to be a statement of adventure, of the biking spirit and of riding safe. We carried with us not just expensive bikes with custom paint but the image and respect of thousands of bikers across the country. We just could not let them down and we are glad we did not. And we did not need any special 'skills' to ride long and safe. Just a level head on responsible shoulders...an attitude where being safe was more important than creating mere impressions. A focus that never wavered from its target...of putting across the statement of 'safe riding' that is a lot more macho, fun, memorable and adventuresome than those reckless, usually helmetless/shoeless/mindless morons who would repeatedly rush past our superbikes in dense traffic just to put us down.

We rode through tens of cities and past hundreds of villages. Communicated with people who spoke tens of different languages and hundreds of dialects. At times both sides were reduced to 'smile-drenched' sign language. But through it all, the overwhelming general interest and romance of biking, especially on big bikes, shone glaringly bright. those not knowing either hindi or english just spoke the key words of their questions....rate/price....mileage....speed. We got mobbed by frenzied kids and adults of a village between Vizag and Vijayawada. We were feted by strangers, given amazing discounts at hotels when we told them of the India ride on 2 wheels, got asked about the bikes by people from across the social, intellectual, financial and professional spectrum. A case in point....between Hubli and Pune we saw three 'masked' cars being driven, obviously some new model on test and overtook them to stop and take a few pics while they went past. They didn't go past us but stopped next to our bikes and the test drivers started taking pictures of our bikes with their phone cams.

Well....the tales are endless as the experience has been tremendously enrichening. We sit here on completion of the full circle, satisfied, happy but strangely void too. The goal gives impetus and without one the 'pace' becomes redundant. Guess it is time to scan the horizons of possibilities afresh and look for new things to do.

Wish us luck in that and be with us as you all have been through this journey and those in the past. Believe me....this ride would NOT have been possible without you all xbhpians across the nation. You were our lifelines through the places we rode through. You were the reason for this journey becoming an embedded part of our memories for life.

A huge 'hurrah!!' for the spirit of motorcycling.

                          See you again sometime...

                              • Location Update

We are some 100kms from Udaipur right now. The road is great and the weather - furnace hot. Plan to get as close to Jaipur as possible by tonight. That will help us get into Delhi around noon. But then its the open road after all....meaning plans can at best be just that 'plans' when traveling.
