I think hypers are mainly road bikes, going dirt riding on it will be a bad idea
    So hyper 2 - monster 1?

Hey there. We need to go riding soon, as the weather's getting better Waiting to get my bike back from the dealership, took it in for excessive clutch drag.

wow man, those are some beauties that you have. The black looks totally menacing!. Do share the ownership cost & experience. Any aftermarket stuffs youve got? since your 5.6ft like me, how is the riding stance like?Is it too aggressive compared to the jap inlines. Do you find it difficult to manage in traffic conditions? congrats and wish you more per miles.

Hey, thanks I agree, the black looks really nice coz the red trellis frame stands out. I got the 1198s OTD for $25k including extended warranty, GAP insurance etc. So far haven't added much aftermarket stuff other than a double bubble windscreen from ZG and some axle and swingarm sliders. Spent a bomb on the riding gear so saving up for a slipper clutch before I take it to the track. I got the 696 for about $10k, but sold it recently. Thinking of the hyper 796 or a car :P

5'6-5'7 is the perfect height for the 1198 (taller people also agree ) you're not crouched too much and its easier to hide behind the windscreen. It took a few weeks of riding to get used to though, hands, back everything hurts in the beginning :P Its not fun for city use, the engine heats up a lot and the constant pressure on the hands is annoying. I use the bike once or twice a week only on weekends for rides through the hills. I do about 120mi or so in a day with a couple of breaks. Keeps it exciting

The stance is definitely more aggressive than other jap bikes and its not as comfortable as jap bikes either. Most jap bikes feel about the same, the engine characteristics, sound are very similar. The 1198 is a completely different experience. Feels more raw. And the sound of the dry clutch is absolute music to the ears

I couldnt agree more. I'm planning to get a slipper before i go for the termis I've done about 4800kms (3000mi) so far, and ive had the bike for about 16months.

I was so close to buying the SFS Its the best naked bike out there!

                          Ride safe!

the last 2 pics look awesome
there is some thing about a black bike, it just looks absolutely sinister
i almost bought an 1198 as well, but then went for the SFS, but have to be honest with u, every time i see an 1198, i want one in my garage, specially when guys like u post ur pics haha
slipper clutch would be awesome on ur bike, do let me know how it goes.
am in india right now, cant wait to get back and do 500 more km before the termis go on.
did u have any problems with ur bike at the 3500 rpm?
or is it just the SF that runs in a closed loop till 3500 rpm?

                              safe ridng dude
p.s :- ur riding gear looks equally sinister
drive safely... if not for you then for the sake of others!!

Do you mean you werent able to go beyond 3500? I've had other issues, the radiator sprung a leak just a few months after buying it so the bike was in the shop for almost 2 months waiting on a replacement from Italy. Also trapped air in the hydraulic clutch, experienced huge clutch drag. The clutch didnt fully disengage so changing gears, putting it in neutral with the engine running was impossible. With the clutch lever pressed the bike would still chug forward. It was at the dealership for a few weeks because of that.

Just some things I need to accept for the fun I have when I actually do get to use the bike
