I myself will prefer the HYM since it looks sinster and in India one can hardly venture above 200km/hr for more than a few seconds. The HYM however does 225km/hr. Its a really different bike to look at.

Do you mean you werent able to go beyond 3500? I've had other issues, the radiator sprung a leak just a few months after buying it so the bike was in the shop for almost 2 months waiting on a replacement from Italy. Also trapped air in the hydraulic clutch, experienced huge clutch drag. The clutch didnt fully disengage so changing gears, putting it in neutral with the engine running was impossible. With the clutch lever pressed the bike would still chug forward. It was at the dealership for a few weeks because of that.

Just some things I need to accept for the fun I have when I actually do get to use the bike
ya ducatis do keep their customers waiting for replacement dont they, i have eard about that, crossing my fingers and hoping it doesnt happen to me
but then again, doesnt the bike make u forget everything when u ride it :-)
SF has a strange but well known problem, it lugs and is rough in its power delivery till 3500 rpm, some thing to do with the exhaust running in closed loop till 3500 rpm, some ducati did to pass the stringent emission norms and noice level tests, beyond 3500rpm , its a beast.

what surprises me , is that there are a lot of after market stuff that seem to eliminate this problem, but strangley 3 yrs running and ducati hasnt thought of solving this problem.

i found my own way of solving the problem , keep the bike above 3500 rpm... simple !! but am careful until the first service
drive safely... if not for you then for the sake of others!!

Yeah since every part is shipped from italy ,it sometimes takes ages. I was told that my replacement radiator for the 1198 was taken off another bike at the factory and sent to me.

Till the 600mi service dont always ride at a very low rpm, stretch the motor once i awhile to higher rpms to break the motor in properly, its necessary to ensure good engine performace in the future. the best place to break in the motor and brakes are the twisties. have fun riding
