    • Thanks for the awesome photos. Total drool stuff.
Just flick the switch and twist my wrist
The beast comes alive, bringing me back to life
A tap to shift and flick of the wrist
The beast takes flight bringing me back to life
Kill the silence, tear apart the dark
The beast rips the road, hell yeah, i feel alive.

      • nice going .... thanks for sharing this and the photo's

The California Superbike School was in Abu Dhabi - Yas Marina on thursday and friday and I was late to register. I hear they maybe back in Feb. I hope they will be.

Can you give us some of your experience on how they are and what was the diff between riding on the road and on the track. I am sure the bike felt great on the track but would still like to hear your experience.

        Thanks,

CSS, as you probably know, does not teach you anything but how to take corners.
          I took level 1 and level 2.
Level 1 covers 5 basics of motorcycle controls, 1. throttle control 2. turning point 3. quick turns 4. reference points for turning 5. two step visual skills.
Level 2 covers visuals skills in more detail.

i must be honest with you, i was apprehensive before i went in, but level 1 was a blast to say the least. i have never had so much fun on 2 wheels ever before.
its hectic, its tiring, by the end of the day at the last session we had 4 crashes, but nevertheless loads of fun.
If you have read Keith Code`s twist of the wrist, you will find that the course is a practical demonstration of what he mentions in his book.
I am not saying i am insanely fast thro the corners after the course, but i am tons more confident going into a corner , and i know how to react ( read how not to react ) in panic situations.
we had all sorts of riders in the same group, novice guys like myself to professional racers, but the course kind of gelled every one together, its not about showing off on the track or seeing who is the quickest ( which is what track days generally are about ), you go there to learn and horn your skills.
i found throttle control the best part of all........ when you ride around the track in one gear only and no brakes at all, you realize how important throttle really is and you will be surprised what you can achieve with just throttle control.
previously i had struggled through slow tight corners, i would always run wide, but i realized i was just lazy with my steering, the session on quick turn gave me much insight into it.
Level 2 honestly was a bit too much for me, dont get me wrong, it was great, but what i need to do is practice what i learnt in level i before i go further.
i can assure you that after every session, you will come out satisfied and more confident of your riding capability.
i really know what more you need to know, if u need any thing specific plz do ask me, i will be more than happy to oblige.

          • let me add one more thing here,
after having done CSS, i have realised, superbikes, even supersports, belong to the track. its here that these machines come alive, its here that you can use their potential, its only here that can ever be safe on them.
I did couple of laps on different bikes after the track day, just for the fun of it, tried the panigale, R1, cbr600rr, and gsx600r , i must say, the 600s were so much better than anything else on the track. felt so much nicer, the only place it lags behind according to me was the straights....... but u know what, who cares!!!! life is all about the corners !!!!

Great going man. I intend to do one of these courses myself.
Have only heard great things about CSS. Were you the only one with a non sportbike?
Just out of curiosity, what did you think about the R1( you rode a cross-plane version I assume). Especially the engine character when compared to a twin. I rode the 1098S so long ago that I seemed to have forgotten how the engine character felt when compared to my cross-plane.
