Thanks @pulsar_flame.
Did my first maiden ride to Mahabs yesterday and back. Just 120kms and maintained a 80km at peak. Followed the gear shifts as recommended. I had bought Rjays Octane and it seems pretty decent and could breathe well.
Ride was really good. Guess the stock seat is not good for long rides. Not sure if it is just me. 2.5hrs of ride had hurt my bottom.
Question to Iron 883 owners here:
Any idea if Road Zepplin is good? Keep hearing good things about Sundowner and Mustang (third party). Zepplin is just an add-on to the stock seat. Please do share if you have any other suggestions for seats for long rides.

Congrats Prabhu. You got it really fast. In Bangalore, it takes many months due to high demand.Originally posted by vprabu View PostThanks @pulsar_flame.

I have a Sundowner and very happy with it. Don't go for pillion seat, it is not good for both rider and pillion. Not heard about Zeppelin for Sportster. Thought they were only for touring bikes. Connect with the local HOG chapter and join for some rides before you purchase.IBA 47577

Thanks Sridhar. Yes, your posts were the bible to me and I went with Sundowner. When I first enquired, the sales person kept showing me the badlander as the Sundowner. I kept telling him he was wrong. Then I sent your bike's picture and told him 'I need that' :-) That worked!
Yes with Sundowner, I feel really comfortable. Last sunday we rode all that way to Marakanam (breakfast ride) and it was awesome. I sent you a FB request. You can see the pictures on my FB wall.
I am still waiting for the other accessories. God only knows, when they arrive.

Srisetty - did you encounter a humming sound when the first time a pillion sat with you. Everytime time someone above 70kgs sits behind me there is a strange humming sound that comes when i lay off the throttle. The HD techs tell me that the belt probably needed a minor adjustment to release stress on it. i was wondering if you encountered the same. Thanks!

Sri, In the last 25K kms, Did u encounter any problems other than the oil leak that you encountered during the first service..Originally posted by srisetty View Post@vprabu, glad that this thread was useful. Saw the pics and you seem to have had a good time. Enjoy your next rides and hope to meet up some time.

Super liked your Iron. She looks Volcano hot.
Many happy miles , and should we not make a 883 community and plan a country wide trip , Hogs from southern most parts can start , on way picking up more hogs enroute to mmm may be kashmir or 7 sisters or viceversa just as good.
all the chapters joining in.
Just a Distant dream I guess.
Hey by day way , I love that windsheild of yours..where did you get it from and $$ ??
Keep riding!Last edited by dustom_99; 04-23-2013, 06:14 PM.You're never lost if ya don't care where the road is headed

Not sure. Get it checked at the service centre.Originally posted by shelleve View PostSrisetty - did you encounter a humming sound when the first time a pillion sat with you. I had issues with speedo and got it fixed under warranty. Apart from this I didn't have any other issues. Regular service and replacement of oil/tyres/brake-pads etc are other routine things done.Originally posted by naveenmuttena View PostSri, In the last 25K kms, Did u encounter any problems other than the oil leak that you encountered during the first service..
Done around 30k kms now and I had changed my rear tyre and break pads after 18000 kms. The new tyre is Michelin, while the old was Dunlop. The front tyre and break pads are still stock. Planning to get them changed before next big ride.
