        @rakshit

        have no clue when will i be able to sneak out to bangalore to check out the bike considering the amount asked for a 5 year old bike is hovering a bit ahead of obscene. Senna edition OR not.

        spoke to doc speed of GODS. the red/silver MV is a no seller.
        there is another one in delhi in white - but the reports have it that there is something seriously malfunctioning in the bike.

        so back to the search of the chennai MV or maybe the one which is in delhi with a bike collector. (but if he is a collector - would he wanna sell it?!!?)

          If it is a genuine Senna edition, its naturally not going to be cheap. With a listed price of $25,000/- approx excluding taxes and only 300 hand built, such bikes do not succumb to depreciation of time.

            i agree to your point abhimanyu.

            but i felt that the bike was a bit overly priced.

            still not ruling it out. might be making a trip to bangalore in the coming month. will have a look and then take a call on it.

              it seems to be a futile attempt to look for the Chennai MV now - as no one is able to help me out with the whereabouts of the bike.

              now either i should consider a used ducati or a new junior ducati.

              it all depends on what's available in the market.

              mods : please close this thread. probably will have to start sending out feelers to get some info on sparingly used and well kept ducatis. any pointers where to look out??

                  Any particular Duc you are looking at? My dealer knows a 999 for sale but he's apprehensive about the papers. Am sure he may be able to find clean and fine specimens. If you just let me know...I'll put across a word to him and establish contact with you.

                      got nothing particular in mind.

                      just want a clean bike without spending over 6 digits (for a used ducati)

                      need a bike which tickles my emotions

                      796 is an option but the only problem is - it feels a bit puny to me. i am 6'2 - heck even the 848 seems a bit small.
                      though i have been in love with the monster ever since it was launched - but right now i am looking for something to go fast on (without being scared - and windslaps ofcourse)

                      so the monster comes only if i don't come across a clean used vehicle.

                      help needed guys!!

                          Visit the Xbhp classifieds or the teambhp classifieds section. I remember seeing a duc for sale, not sure if its fits your budget.

                            @ samyakmodi - if you dont get into the over 6 digit range, i highly doubt you will be able to find anything clean which will tick your emotions after you had initially set your sights on a used MV. It will be difficult to get a good condition and clean Jap for that range, can a get a dropped bike though. If you like the Monster, then checkout the 1100 version that should be fun

                              hi,

                              you can get any jap bike 2009 and pre2009 or even a 2010 is you are lucky. just keep a lookout for such bikes.

                              ask the mechanics in bangalore who do SBK work.

                              I have enquired with one mechanic in hyderabad and that guy said that he can get me a 2008 r1 for 8 lakhs, and a 2009 for something around 9-9.5.

                                bro getting a good condition jap in that range is not difficult at all. might end up getting the latest ones as the new japs cost somewhere just 20% over my second hand bike budget.

                                and budget is not a constraint constraint. a bike should be reasonably priced. if i am offered a used mv for let's say anything above 11-12 lacs - i am not a buyer as a new mv would cost me 18 lacs after all the taxes and duties. and the desirability and "willing to pay price" goes down from there on if the bike is older.
                                a 2006 mv from chennai with clean papers and condition was offered to me for 11 lacs in 2008. i had a budget of less than 50% of it that time - so couldn't buy it. now i am again looking for the same mv or a similar one with clean import papers and clean riding history - so hoping to get it in a 6 digit figure.
                                if i have to venture into the 7 digit figure - why would i want to buy a used SBK is what i am wondering. would need a killer deal, exclusive bike and absolutely no reason for not buying it - then it's a different story.

                                why 7 digit for a new bike and not an old one?? well to be honest for a 7 digit figure i might end up exceeding my bank balance - so would need a bank loan for it. bank loan on a new bike is lot easier and turns out affordable. while the same might not be the case with an older/used bike. so would need to understand my finances as well.

                                but just in case - i get a killer deal like mentioned above - i wouldn't mind asking my dad's help in reaching the figure - but then again would need to pay him back ASAP.
                                but that's another story altogether.

                                @n_aditya

                                that duc though tempting - is falling at 50% above the set budget. though it's an 1198s - but still don't have that kind of money for a used bike.

                                @rakshit

                                need an italian now. i know they are too fussy to maintain, and come no where close to the japs when it comes to smoothness OR reliability OR refinement. but i am sure i don't want a jap this time around. if it ever is a jap - it has to be a honda and nothing else. lived with yamaha, suzuki and honda - and nothing comes even close to the joy of living with a honda.
