    you want exclusivity(either MV or ducati)& reasonable price(below 10L).IF you find any ducati at less than 10 lacs it could be a monster 796 or a very rare chance of ducati 848evo else you may find a 5-6 year old version, which i think you don't wanna go for & as far as a LEGAL MV is concerned 1st its a rare sbk in india & that too a legal one is a really difficult to find & then for around10L is even more difficult.so i'd say just increase your budget & go for a new 848evo which falls under 14L ..
    GOOD LUCK

      @rakshit

      you never know what kind of deals one might end up getting. as far as 4-5 year old bike is concerned - i am not too bothered with that provided it comes at the right price.
      and a new 848 evo?? exactly my thoughts buddy

        hmm..but the joy of a new bike would be missing.if i were at your place i would go for loan for the remaining amount

          completely agree on the joy of new bike part.

          there is no better joy than a new bike. period.

          but then was hoping to get my hands on an MV - used but still nothing comes close to it when it comes to sheer riding pleasure.
          and bro there is another problem. buying a bike ex-showroom also adds on another 20% on it which can't be financed. 1. 10% would be the entry tax i would end up paying to get it here in indore (exclusively for a ducati). 2. 7% +3% would be the RTO and insurance payments. so let's say if the bike is for 14 lacs ex-showroom + 2.8 lacs in the way of taxes, RTO and insurance. Now an 848evo for almost 17 lacs doesn't sound that "joyful" now - does it??
          and even if it does - i would end up taking a loan of atleast 7 lacs, which would spell about 23k per month for next 3 years (considering that the bike's loan would be as expensive as a car's). and i am not too sure how much i would end up getting after the bike has done 3 years with me. i seriously doubt i would even get half of the amount i end up spending on it today.

          but if it's an MV (if at all by tiniest of luck) i end up buying - 1. it won't be as expensive to procure. 2. i won't be selling it for as long as i can see (so needn't worry about the resale) 3. even if i do end up selling it - dent to the pocket would be minimal.

          p.s.: while typing all this - i have just realised onething. buying a new bike is DAMN expensive. so a new bike has to be the bike for keeps. can't consider buying a new bike and then changing it within a year or 2 only because you are not enjoying it anymore. can't help it. i am a marwari. money comes with a lot of difficulty, and being a marwari - it's even more difficult to part away with it

              maintenance i am not too bothered about.

              choice after MV is Ducati

              yeah honda, yamaha, suzuki, kawasaki and hyosung all retail their bikes in indore. the missing brands are HD and Ducati.

              monster 796 though a great looker is for later. been in love with the monster ever since i remember, but right now i am looking for a SBK. monster - whenever that happens - would be for keeps. maybe the one they launch next would be slightly more comfortable for people as tall as me. i am 6'2 - a bit too tall for the monster.

              somehow i am not getting excited with a jap anymore. have had a 600rr, r6 n an r1 for quiet a good time (both the yams were my friends') and have enjoyed them enough. the only thing that my heart really starts singing for now is the MV. and if not that, then a ducati. if not that either - then i would wait patiently for something to come and tickle my emotions. maybe a vmax!! (but still super scared of the beast) OR maybe something else - i am not too sure.

                      you won't be paying anything if you are planning to import one legally.

                      reason being - bikes below 800cc are not allowed legally to be imported.
