  • 2006 Honda CBR600RR in US

I always used to dream about sport bikes. I used to have Bajaj Boxer in India (). I came to the US for higher studies 3 yrs back. Last year I bought a Kawasaki Ninja 250R here. Used it for a season and sold it off.

Finally last month I bought a super sport bike a 2006 Honda CBR600RR. Got a good deal with all the mods like Jardine Exhaust, Fender Eliminator etc. I should say the Ninja is a leap from the boxer and the CBR is a huge leap from the Ninja itself.

If you have any questions about these bikes. Shoot me a question. I would be happy to help.

Here are some pics of my current bike and old bike.

              Thanks guys for the wishes.

I live in Illinois now. But will move to Pennsylvania in Sep.

I bought it at 9000 miles. Now it has 9600 i think.

I go with State Farm Insurance which tends to be cheaper for bikes. I pay $19 a month for full coverage. I am 25 years old. The insurance on Ninja used to be a joke it something around $7 a month.

I paid $4300 for the bike. Registration and taxes another $200.

I spent $500 on riding gear (Leather Jacket, Helmet, Gloves, Riding Jeans, Motorcycle Boots). None of these are required here (even the helmet) but just wanted to feel safer

haha. costs less than a second-hand 2 year old Ninja 250R over here.

                    not fair.

Ya. There is something seriously wrong with pricing super bikes in India.

A 2010 CBR1000RR costs around 11K here. And in India isn't it around 14 Lakhs? Its more than double the cost of international market. $11K = Rs. 5L

And I was also wondering about the 1000cc bikes in India. People here in US will be scared to buy 1000cc bikes for street use. They say a 600cc super sport is more than enough for street use. And a 1000 on road is a overkill. Considering Indian roads a 600 itself is a over kill. It has something to do with the 800cc limit imposed by the govt. Right? But I don't get its meaning.

I live in Wisconsin, where in Illinois do you live? If you are around the Chicago area, PM me. I will probably be down there next week. My friend lives in Chicago and rides a 250 ninja (incidentally, I rode that 2 years ago and then sold it to him last year).

Living in Milwakee, you should have bought a Harley man.
