From 1 tank full i am able to get atleast 140 km, that is city riding, on the the highway you can expect to get about 160, i wouldnt advise to take her further.
As it has loads of torque, the acceleration is good, its not 1000cc good but its no slouch. But would suggest you take a test ride and form your own opinion.

As you want to use it for everyday commuting, beware of the heat of the engine as its a air cooled 1200cc mil, it starts to heat up in stop and go traffic as any other big bike does, which is not advisable for the engine plus you need safe parking to the place you are going, i have seen it attracts a lot of unwanted attention and by past experiences, now dont want to leave her alone without any security in public.
                Hope this helps

I have recently bought the just launched HD - 48, booked it in early April but just got the delivery. i think it has enough power for our roads, it is able to overtake any traffic with just a slight twist of the throttle. I really love the orange colour, it turn different shades of orange as the light changes during the day. There are a bunch of mods i want to do & will be getting to them soon. I love the way the bike looks, the old school hot rod charm. I haven't taken her above hundred because of the run in period but love the torque of the engine. Only negative that i have found is the suspension, it a bit hard for our roads, otherwise the bike is a dream to ride. I am absolutely in love with the Harley beat. Will keep updating experiences as i ride more.

I wanted to give my dad the honour to take the bike from the showroom, the first person to ride her, so here he is riding her on the Nelson Mandela Road near the showroom
For the BOLD & Underlined part....
You think so??? Then you are wrong coz it's REALLY more powerful & fast then some of the sedans on the road!! It's really an awesome BAD boy bike The two tone colour is also fantastic & doesn't look out of place at all. Enjoy & share more.
One request, though. if you can post pictures directly onto the XBHP site that will be GREAT so that we can see the images.

Thanks mate its really helpful. i will definitely take a test drive before booking the vehicle. even i had a (had a ninja 250r) problem about the parking the vehicle in public. i have used the bike for commuting also. so, i have little experience with heat and parking with liquid cooled bike minus 950cc!

will keep the points in mind while taking test drive and decide.

                          Cheers

Bike is awesome congrats, i m confused between the iron & the 48, the GC of the 48 freaks me out, here in mumbai we have terrible roads, dunno if the 48 103mm gc will survive mumbai roads

                                cheers..
