    There is an old biker wisdom saying "When you think you have learnt it all and done it all, the bike gives you the next lesson in riding"

    There is also another popular signature line that says "The most important nut on a bike is the one that holds the handlebar".

    Simply put- Ride within your limits and enjoy every ride...so you can 'LIVE to RIDE' (another day!)

          Just had a crash that left my bike completely totaled and in pieces. Was fully geared but docs say I'm lucky to be alive and in one piece. Fortunately, I was riding with the right group of people and they played a huge role in getting me the right medical assistance at the right time. Thanks to them, I'm back on my feet again in a relatively short time.

          Riding a superbike puts us in one of the highest automotive risk categories. Even a slight slip or unforeseen circumstance can spell danger. I thought I was a careful rider, but that didn't stop what happened to me. For everyone else, my only advice is this: you can never be too careful while riding a superbike, especially on our treacherous Indian roads. You owe it to yourself and your family to stay in one piece, so always stay on the side of caution.

              Glad to hear you are fine boom.... I agree with you.
              Ridding in India (superbike) is not safe. Riding anything is not safe, but as superbikes are fast, the factor of safety drops like a rock.
              Riding sbk in India is not safe at all. Heck, I dont think I will let my kid ride a superbike in India. Even if you are very very careful, still there are a gazillion other factors here to take you down.

              p.s. - sometimes i feel like carrying a gun with me when i go out riding, as honestly ive had many people attempting to kill me on road, and if I am right, i have full right to shoot them in my defense !

                    I suffered a major concussion which has scrambled my memory of the incident. However, guys from my group say I straight-lined a turn a high speed and ended up crashing off a bridge. I landed on a ledge while the bike went all the way down to the railway tracks below. I have always been a careful rider but a lapse in concentration nearly cost me dearly.

                    Here's a pic of the previously showroom condition bike post accident. A lesson to never be thrown off your game...

                      Glad to know you are well. Bike is damaged extensively. Looks like you were doing speed in excess of 100+kmph.

                          You dont have to be doing speeds in excess of 100+ kmph for that to happen. As the OP described, the bike went off the bridge and landed a long way down possibly a cliff. The fall from the bridge caused the extensive damage. The damage would have been the same had someone just nudged the bike of the cliff.

                                Yep, I'm alright but the bike is a total loss. Breaks my heart, but as everyone points out, I'm lucky to be alive and well. Being fully geared up made all the difference.

                                Still can't believe it happened to me but I guess all it takes is a momentary lapse and things can go all over the place. Just a reminder to all super bike riders to ride well within your limits on our crazy roads.
