+100 to that and we are thankful to guys like you who pen down your experience for others and motivate them as well.

Your friendly neighbor (HVK) is a huge inspiration for me although his choice of machine is different but passion to explore the world is amazing

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Like I said, this is insanity. The coracle looked as if it was going to fold over into two anytime.

This is nuts, you had to ferry across? And came via the same way?

I think about bikes when I am taking a dump in the morning, watching the news, spanking the monkey, sitting through a meeting at work, meeting friends, spending time with my family and my fiancee, when I am sleeping and pretty much all the gaps in between.

I don't think there is anyone here on Xbhp who isn't like that. Although some of you might envy me...either for the machine or for the ability to take off on a whim, I want to stress that it has nothing to do with slacking off at work or on responsibilities. The trick is to smartly string these rides together in between moments of "reality". There are many here who manage to do this...Ananth, Praful, Praveen (Xinfii) etc.

It is just lust and love. Everytime I sit on this bike it puts a smile on my face and on the faces of the people who get a glimpse because it is just so ridiculous. It is stupidly over-designed...has a unusually big engine and an over-the-top exhaust note. It is loud, brash and there nothing "restrained" about this bike. Even those who have wet dreams about i4s can't help but fall for this bike. 30,000 Kms is too less a distance to ride with this machine.

Rossiter had to rein me in a few times when I was tempted to sell and switch to a Hayabusa or something...temporary bouts of madness. I will keep this bike with me till the end. Maybe retire it at some point of time, do it up and just mount it on my study wall along with the RD350 and 1962 Bullet 350.

If you are passionate about something and end up falling in love with it...you'll post a thread like this as well
Damn i can so relate to this ! even though i dont ride much (either coz i dont have time or i have a lot of restrictions) i think of bike all the time !! parents / friends feel im just mad about bikes and thts it but what they dont get is there is a deeper connection its like what steve jobs said for his speech at Standford "have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you want to become" this just applies to me when it comes to biking... biking is just hardwired into my head and im damn happy about it

By the way GS Congratulations !!!!!! also... Thor needs to meet Street Hawk can we please have a photoshoot ??? have been asking Mr. Akhil for quite a while now !!

Sheel - on the way out of the resort the water was knee deep...I rode the MT through this water for about 20 meters. On the way back in the evening the river had swelled even more so now it was about waist deep in some areas and the width of the crossing was close to 40 meters! All the bikes (various enfield motorcycles and the MT) went across on the coracle.

The hardest part was lifting the bike into the coracle and lifting it upright after the tumble. At that moment I wasn't thinking of the boat sinking and losing my bike to the river...just never crossed my mind.

Besides...I couldn't well leave it on the other side of the river overnight and expect to find it there in the morning I had no choice...

Sorry, I came across this thread now..
And I must say, what an amazing thread it is..

Even though I dont own a superbike, as a matter of fact ; not even a quarter liter, I do like reading and fantasizing about them..

Very well said about the "Trick", also the addiction to Biking and Bikes..
It has definitely taken a toll on my work efficiency (XBhp in work hours )

Even everyone who knows me, thinks that I've gone mad for bikes and stuff..

Still, the addiction of filling petrol in tanks and smoke from the pipes (and bearing the risk of crashing) is way to better than alcohol, cigarettes and the risk of getting lost in possibly many ways.

                          About the Love part,
just like you, this affair started when I was a kid sitting on the tank of my Dad's Bullet 350, which had clocked 120,000 + kms..
Now, I just own 2 tiny machines, the RX 135 & R 15, and love them to the core.
So much that, yesterday was Valentine's Day, and even after returning at 2.00 a.m from the office, I took both my babes for a short ride at 3.00 a.m(facing my Dad's wrath ), kissed and felt the Love..

Hope, to see the 100-1000 mark in a way that you enjoy every mile,
and someday even I might be able to do that..

Thanks for the inspiration and the source of knowledge that you guys over here possess, from which I'm trying to learn.

                          GOD Bless and Ride Safe,
                          Shreyas.
