@SF: Kindly use this thread about discussing your experience as a whole with the MT-01. This would really be an informative thread, I have a hunch already..
Please move it to the original section. I don't normally turn on my laptop on weekends so I'll answer all queries on Monday if I can.

Thank you everyone, I had a feeling this would stir everyone's ........

                      Mods so far

Raask mufflers: (almost like open straight through pipes) these are hand made and they are LOUD. Not shrieky loud; deep bass tones, rumble in the jungle kind of loud. What a true motorcycle should sound like . Roll of the throttle and you can hear massive amounts of pops and bangs, at night you can see the blue flames these babies spit out; I kid you not.

Akrapovic Stage I end cans with removeable baffles: Top notch quality but I haven't fitted these yet; and I'm reluctant to fit them anytime soon as the existing ones are damn wicked, the Akras are a lot more civilised.

Black shorty Pazzo racing levers with silver fitments/adjusters.

HEL SS carbon look braided hoses: Not fitted these yet, will do after the 1st service.

New Lable Service Tail Tidy kit: Not fitted this yet, will do after the 1st service.

Sato Racing Frame and Engine Sliders: These are on the bike and top notch quality, one of the best your money can buy.

If I keep this bike long enough then I may consider getting wave rotors, the stage II ecu (plus PCIII, airbox mods, filters, etc.) and the single seat kit with heat shields.

Gear: 4 different helmets, yes I'm mad
A KBC FFR Top Gun (may sell this off), anyone interested ?
A KBC Racing VR 2R Reaper in matte black and Red/Orange Gaphics (you have to see this one, it will make you want to buy a bike if you ain't got one)
A matte black Airoh TR-1 (check this out on the net, a detachable chin guard converts this into a jet helmet, pretty cool)
                      A cheapo open face one.
And a Joe Rocket Rave jacket, oh ... and a Harley Davidson Screaming Eagles jacket.

I bought most of the gear (got the Airoh and some mods from the UK) and some other accessories from my friend's store; Performance Racing Store http://www.performanceracingstore.net If you are in Mumbai drop in there, they've got some really cool stuff.

                      Hate:
Accessories & mods are expensive as none available in the US, mainly Europe.
Wind blast at high speeds may pose a problem. I ride usually in the city and don't do 200 kmph highway runs so it's pretty cool for me.
Wheelieing (sp?) is not the easiest stunt to do; and I don't even want to try. The front wheel coming down after a wheelie on a 270 odd kg (wet weight) bike may not be the best thing for the fork seals and head bearings . I love wheelieing though and may get a second bike just for that reason.

                      Love:
Do I need to say anything more? Ride it once and you will be hooked. Super comfortable to ride. Once you are on it the weight just disappears. Set up the suspension to suit you and you will be scraping your knees through the left handers (on right handers you may scrape the down pipes first).
The engine, the growl, the roar.... couldn't have asked for a better bike for the application, the presence, the charisma.

Would love to know the details, vis-a-vis, when did you get it, how much has it run, how has the performance been, etc. etc.
Got it around the end of August; done just a little over 1000 kms now. Performance has been all I hoped for and then some..... It's awesome, deep bassy rumble and awesome thrust off lights to even put most sportsters to shame; for a few 100 metres.

If you liked that sound you have to hear mine. I've got the loudest, rumbleiest exhausts money can buy for an MT.

                      mileage kitna milta hai ?
They are nowhere near the riders thighs so that is not a concern. They can burn your ankles/shins if you do something stupid. I haven't faced such a problem though. The exhaust heat shields do a good job making it quite comfortable for the pillion but I hate riding with a pillion anyway. And there's an underseat fan to cool the exhaust, it's not come on ever since I put in the new Raask mufflers.

                      I don't bother checking the mileage as I don't ride much. I'm guessing between 15 and 20.

Lol, no man. This is a place next to my building where we normally hang around at night. The Cops hang around there too and that night many of them were checking out the bike. Oh and it seems like dogs like to hang around there too for some reason

A brief ride report? Details about the bike? Like how many kms ridden, services done, spares etc?
Cheers Ross. You own an MT too? Yes I love my MT. Initially I was seriously considering importing (legally) a Speedie or the new CB1000R but it was just too much hassle and would take time, I wanted a ride NOW since I had sold my TDM so settled for the MT (it was in my wishlist) as it was available legally. I had done a lot of research prior to the purchase so I knew what I was expecting but since I've bought it, I just get more and more amazed each day.

I went to Singapore a couple of weeks ago and rode the Speedie, also saw the CB1000R in flesh; and let me just say this..... I'm not giving up my MT for either of these anytime soon. I may consider either of them or a sports bike as a second bike but not giving up my MT for them.

I'm waiting for the damn Yam shop here to organise the oil filter and oil. My service is overdue. They sell the bikes but don't have simple routine spares for them

looking at the underseat pipes, are the pillion's thighs safe?
Iam sure Yamaha have ensured that its foolproof though
Close to 2.5 months and 1050 odd on the odo.
See my above answer to the exhaust safety query.

If it can get louder without resorting to no pipes or no mufflers then I'd like to know. The ones I have are the loudest exhausts money can buy (for an MT).
