Only if it was locally built and cost half as much then it would have meant something to me...until that happens I'll have to make do with pics only.

2009 Superbike Smackdown VI Street out on MCUSA. The Honda Fireblade retains its title for the best street motorcycle, Yippieee
Small text from the comparo...
Close your eyes for a moment and envision the perfect sportbike on the street. First, it would have to be fast - really, really fast - yet easy-to-ride. Because what’s the point of having a quick bike unless you can fully exploit it around every bend and on each straightaway? Last, it has to be comfortable. Because after all this is your perfect bike and you’re going to want to ride it every day, rain or shine, hot or cold because it is, in fact, perfect. Okay, you can open your eyes, close your computer screen and journey to the local Honda motorcycle dealership because they have one there right now - it’s called the 2009 Honda CBR1000RR.

Bah, Bike UK did a track as well as street comparo, where the R1 won every test, except for top speed.
It does not matter what a magazine thinks. These bikes are so goddamn close to each other in performance, that it boils down to the rider, how well he can use it.
But the crossplane crankshaft on the R1 does make sense in the way it enhances the feel of the tarmac through the rear wheel. Have to ride a 09 Blade and a 09 R1 back to back to understand. Now would'nt that be Nirvana
You get the point?? :D
