@appugodara - I saw your rear tire pics yesterday. I guess you met with one of the Ninja 650 owners in RJ. His name is Aditya Bhelke. Please share your experience on the fatter rear tire once you clocked some decent miles on the bike. I am curious to know though why you opted for the fatter rear tire rather than the usual 160 profile.

Well Frnd of mine who is distributor of some imported tyres in North India is also ninja 650 owner n he's using 180-55-17 METZELER frm last. 2 years.. N he's very happy..

So I've also went for 180..

Another point is 160-70-17 tyres used only by ninja650 in India as of now so not readily available n not much options..

180 profile tyres been used by many super bikes etc so they are easily available and if u try bit can get good deal too

So I went for 180.. N so far I'm feeling awesome

Kawasaki Ninja 650 Owner's Meet - Nagpur

Organised by few fellow members of India Ninja 650 group on Facebook, this was one of the best G2G's I have been a part of. Everything was arranged perfectly and co-ordination was of highest standards. I am lucky and thankful to be a part of such a delightful group. Having discussed and spoken to 'N' number of individuals for over an year it was time to finally meet these legends face to face and the interaction was epic to say the least. Close to 40 Ninja 650 owners rode to Nagpur from various parts of country viz., Delhi, Kolkata, Gujarat, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, etc.

The Mumbai Chapter...
From Mumbai few members decided to do the ride in 2 days as Nagpur is close to 850 kms. Due to shortage of leaves, few of us decided to do it in one day. Plan was simple - Start early, cover as much distance as possible in daylight and reach Nagpur by late evening. It was myself, Anurag Bhandare & Kiran Ghag who started the ride in extreme cold conditions at 4AM and we ended up catching up with 2 day riders in Dhule by 7:30 AM

After a nice hour's break at Dhule with Mumbai clan, we again continued the ride this time it was myself, Anurag Bhandare and Maxson Lewis who rode together. Kiran Ghag joined forces with Shashank, Lionel as they rode at their pace. While we rode in group of 3 each, there was one gentlemen, Piran Behram who was riding solo but within close vicinity for us to keep a track of each other.

3-way intercom on Scala was an amazing experience. F*** became ONE WORD to be cautious of either bad roads ahead, rumblers, mad truck drivers! As soon we heard F*** on our scala we used to ride cautiously till the risk passed us

Riding till Nagpur was an immensely good learning experience as the ride was a mixture of very good roads and some extremely pathetic patches which can be termed as, "No Roads" & if you don't have a strong physique to manage the 650's weight your wrists and back would be cursing you for sure. Some real close calls did occur and I am glad none of us got hurt in any ways or any damage to bikes. All's well that end's well! Time for some pictures as the story continues...

Sun N Sand, Nagpur & A lifetime memory...


Now it was time to put faces to all those people with whom we have been interacting for ages on Facebook, over phone calls, emails, etc. People who have been helping each other in name of biking brotherhood but never met in person. In a perfect setting in Sun N Sand Hotel, soothing in the hospitality and great food the interaction began! I never felt as if I am meeting the fellow Ninjutsu's for the first time even though we were actually seeing each other for the first instance.


Next day morning began with a bang & when I say bang I literally mean BANG! Riding Kawasaki Z800 Bang! Riding a Kawasaki ZX10R Bang! Bang!! Thanks to the top officials of IKM (India Kawasaki Motors) MD Horiuchi San and Dy.MD Nishikawa San we all got a chance to test ride the best offerings from Team Green.

That's Awesome!!! We want to more about it, share your experience like how was it to ride a litre class for the first time, what speeds did you touch and how did you get this chance, was it for everyone who attended the G@G or you few guys were the lucky ones?

As soon as I sat on the Z800 it made me feel comfortable. It was like my kind of bike to ride with comfortable upright seating, butter smooth I-4 engine, so much power that it can reach 200 with ease. Although due to windblast, all I could manage was 177 on the odo. This bike may not be perfect for touring but it is perfect for city highways and weekend rides. Z800 is extremely flickable & even though it is 229 KGS on paper it felt very agile to ride.





Regarding ZX10R, it's a crazy bike. Extreme riding stance and no matter how decent rider you are once you sit on the bike its hard to control the rush. Freaking first gear did 100 kmph with lowest riding maps and these bikes do 200 with ease. This bike is meant for the tracks and other than that short breakfast runs. Gear shifts were so smooth and brakes are so good that it took sometime get used to my 650 again after this ride. This was only the second time I was riding a litre class and first time on a supersport so I am completely floored with the level of performance these modern day bikes offer. Owning this beast would be like having a supermodel in your garage if you know what I mean

Reached ahmedabad today.. Michelin 180-55-17 was performing awesome..
Pro biking showroom guys @ ahmedabad was very helpful.. I've reached workshop at 5.45pm n asked them to service.. To my surprise they've accepted it n done it in 1.5hours
Got some spares

And clutch cable of RS 1150 and rear indicators rs 1450 each..

Total bill was rs7650..
