I have been following this thread since the beginning of last year. Very well written with good pics. I have also read your other trip logs. I have been wanting to buy a good middleweight for sometime now but due to some or the other reason it keeps getting delayed. One of the reason being i want to buy it outright and not on loan.
Recently the Triumph Street Triple has been launched and i am starting to lean towards that, i like the Ninja but i love nakeds, but the price is too high. Also i am 6' tall and hefty 100 kgs, so i think the ninja will suit me better.
Maybe the end of this year i will be able to buy something, but i am really really confused.
Your travelogues present a good case for ninja and the biggest advantage is the service network of probiking.
Anyways i will not bore you with my confusion.
I was a silent observer until now but thought it was high time to atleast reply to a thread i have been following for so long. Thank you for the thread and wish you many miles on the ninja.

How is the engine temp. during summer time especially in Mumbai's traffic? The stock windscreen has 3 adjustments right, why then you still opted for this one (Sorry, but this looks out of proportion on this bike).
The place where you stayed is like individual houses or what? Just curious as this place looks good for weekend stay. Also how's the beach, recently went to Alibag and akshi beach and was really disappointed with the state of the beach, garbage all around and people using it as open toilet .

Anish - I don't ride the N650 in Mumbai traffic, I have ZMR for my city commutes. 99% the Ninja is used for my touring and weekend rides. But having said that I have done fair bit of rides in city also so in Mumbai traffic there is engine heat which you can feel at your thighs but it's bearable. The radiator fan will kick in as soon as you are in stop and go traffic.

Regarding stock windscreen, yes it has 3 way adjustments but I out grew the stock windscreen and needed a change. Even the Puig touring screen can be adjusted 3 ways and it offers better wind protection than the stock screen. Personally, I feel the new screen adds to the bike's personality but it depends from person to person. Some like some may not!

We stayed at Pear's Beach Resort in Ladghar Beach. Its around 270 kms from Mumbai and 10 kms from Dapoli. Shrivardhan, Ladghar, Anjarle, etc are much better beaches compared to Alibaug. Ladghar is not known to many and hence, there is less crowd and is more peaceful.

It's called 'Top Case Box'. This box is from a company called as SHAD. This one is Shad SH48 which has 48 liters of capacity and max payload of 8 kgs. I actually bought it from a friend who used it on his N650. Since he was selling his bike he sold it to me for 15K. I only use it when I am riding with pillion and when I ride solo I prefer to ride without the box, I like tying the tail bag / saddle bags with bungees and ride.

This box to my surprise does not hamper the ride quality in any ways although it has a speed limit of 120, I did touch 165 once as my pillion wanted to experience 150+ speeds Also it did not affect my cornering one bit, did some nice leans with pillion with the top case box so I am very happy with the overall performance of the bike with top case. It comes with entire mounting kit and is very easy to remove and put back.

Thanks for the reply, great that you didn't take my comment about your screen in the wrong way. After writing I realised it sounded rude.
If the heat is bearable then that's great.
Ladghar sounds like the perfect place, I hate crowds.

Now only if I can decide once and for all on what bike to get.
