30 days completed and my Green affair continues. Today, Midori completes 5000 kms and hopefully many more mile munching rides would continue

Shrek, sachin - for the fender extenders, count me in for a set of those. u guys picking it up off the shelf or getting them made, carbon fibre is neat. BTW wasnt there a mod using a CBR 250 radiator guard on the FB page. i thought i saw one. Anyways, keep me posted on any developments on the radiator guard as well guys. Cheers n safe riding.

For the fender extender, we need to make them as it is not readily available. Shrek is possibly waiting for some lead to move forward and once done we shall let you know. Same for radiator guard.

Hi,Congratulations for your midori.I am keenly following the thread.Regarding fender extender, do let me know if any progress happens as i too want it for my duke.Right now I am using a mudflap but it doesnt look the part.It serves the purpose though, Ive done rajmachi with zero mud on radiator.

ynike99 - I will keep you posted if there is some breakthrough. Meanwhile, you can check on Duke 200 ownership thread if you get any leads. Someone in Duke family must have surely done it

according to you, which is the practical upgrade from zmr in terms of performance wise?
is it the ninja 250r or ninja 650r.

Both are practical upgrade's! Both are more than capable for Indian roads & to keep your hunger for speed satisfied on the finest highways this country has to offer. You cannot go fast always, most of the times on both the bikes you'll find yourself cruising comfortably on 120-130 kmph.


On a 250 one can learn to ride easier and become a better rider because as you gain confidence you'll be able to explore the limits of the bike. With 650, you rarely get to explore its limits and don't know how to respond when they are pushed to the limits. Before I jumped on Ninja 650, I did ride my friend's Ninja 250R for close to 4000 kms to get used to the power so that I can manage double the power and 400cc more plonked in the N650.

Performance wise, Ninja 650 is a better bike to ride on open highways because of the shear power and comfortable high speed cruising it offers. N250R also is one hell of a bike to ride on open highways but it will not be fair to compare 250cc with 650cc will it? Acceleration is far more better in N650 than in N250R.

Pick your green monster as per your budget & liking. With the launch of Ninja 300 expected by Mid 2013, if it is priced right this would be one bike to look out for.

but i want to know if ninja 250r is an upgrade for zmr or i should go for 650r for a big power difference, i have never rode any of the ninja, i am going to do it very soon but if i do it also, i cannot get to know the bike in some kms so asking you since you own both and you have rode a 250r.
i know ninja250r is a lot better bike from zmr in terms of performance and many other aspects but what i want to know Is there a lot of difference because as i ride for few months i should not start craving for more power.

IMO, if you upgrade to a 250R, and the next day you ride my 650R, you'll feel the pinch.

This because, the pull from the 650 is so so so very much, that you'll find it hard and scary at first. Both bikes are capable of doing 150 clicks, but the elder sibling will be more relaxed and (comparatively) easier to control and bring down to manageable speeds, in case!

i have read many trip logs and i have found that there are awesome roads in north india compared to south india where you can really test the top speed of the bike and maintain it for sometime.

Yes, Ninja 250R is an upgrade from ZMR however if you want the huge power difference & high speed relaxed cruising then you have the Ninja 650. For some riders, you would eventually feel the need for more power but for many riders Ninja 250R is more than sufficient.

Bring the Ninja 300 into picture which has 6 more bhp, better low-mid range power as compared to previous generation Ninja 250R and top whack of close to 185 kmph you have a very potent machine in the making.

One full day rest on Saturday and next day I feel like riding. Best way to relax on a Sunday is by doing a short breakfast ride and that's exactly what we did.
Along with my friend, Bnay on his Ninja 250R we went to Aamby Valley & returned by noon.

Riding to Aamby Valley gave me a chance to do some cornering on the Ninja 650. Since the engine revs in linear fashion with healthy power it allowed me to have fun on small winding roads without scaring myself by carrying too much speed into a corner. In terms of cornering performance, I noticed that although you have good feedback from the front wheel due to the soft suspension and more upright position the bike is not comfortable for aggressive cornering but it fares pretty well in the twisties. Dunlop Roadsmart tires provide awesome grip and feedback, pretty gluey tires.

As of now, I do not have the performance brake lines and better brake pads on the bike so I'm sure cornering it would be more fun once I have my brakes upgraded

Same place as last week this time to meet our Puneri brothers. At Kamat's breakfast point I was lucky enough to see COPS group and drool over their SBK's
Followed up soon by Mumbai SBK's owners. Post breakfast rode till Tiger Hill Point met Pune friends and had a gala time with lot of chit chat and laughter riot.


Rode with them till Aamby and relaxed in canopies for an hour. Couple of Puneris rode Midori and were left speechless once they came back.
