25kms is a really good FE
i have been following your posts dude
    waiting for the pics.
    happy riding
    I explored South India in Aug'12 ( https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...5854667&type=3 )
I might have to visit my hometown, Kerala in Apr'13 however not sure if it will be on bike or train. Let's see how it goes.

Till 130kmph on empty straight road you feel your cruising without compromising any safety but post that any speed is just for few seconds and you have to come back to your normal riding speed as in India everything on the road is there to kill you so it's better to avoid ultra sonic speeds for a long time. Short burst is fine but not for long & you better listen to your mind my friend.

I have read somewhere don't remember where, you should only go as fast as you are able to control the bike and avoid mishap in emergency. So we should always ride only 75-80% of our potential and always keep 25% for emergency. I am still learning and have a long way to go

You can't say change DP as I still own ZMR too. Waise, you should also change your DP as you have retired from biking now but I can understand your problem. Priorities have changed I guess. 2 wheels replaced by 4 wheels and friends replaced by COUGH COUGH

RJ trip I have many photos but they are with Deepan and probably by next week I ll get it so I can start the log.

See, even your TVS Apache has ABS but Kawasaki in India does not have ABS. I think it is mainly because of they do not want to increase their product inventory hence, ABS is not present for India. To avoid issues in stock they have limited bike coming to India only to Green color and non-ABS version.

Looks like you did not read the updates properly, It was Bnay's Ninja but Bnay was not there in the trip. Deepan was riding Bnay's Ninja. CBR250R in the above pic is owned by Priyank Mamtora (Silent Xbhp member :P)

Max I could do is 320 kms when I had less than 4.5 litres remaining in the tank. Usually it is around 300 kms when I fill Petrol & as soon as I see the final Bar in Fuel Indicator I search for fuel station [6 Bars show full tank and when final bar blinks you hit which means 4 litres remaining]

P.S. It's mentioned in my previous post too

              Excellent report, keep them coming!
Glad the dirtsack bag got the job done
I'm jealous man, need to take lessons from you on how to manage 2 weeks of leave from work for rides like this.
After Parikshit's misadventure, I'm glad you guys made it back in one piece.
I want to see more pictures!

On another note, I am not getting more than 20kmpl on my ninja. I guess WOT is the culprit. I think the stock ECU map keeps the mix lean at low revs and ultra rich at the higher ones to protect the engine. I have managed 23-ish in the city, but never more than 20 on the open road. Not complaining mind you!

I owe a big thanks to you for giving me your dirt sack Overnighter bag. I loved it. It's easy to tie and was stable at high speeds. I will give your bag to you in this coming weekend and buy myself a new one. It's worth it.

Regarding leaves, weekends are off for me. So I always start the trip on Saturday & even if I take just one week of leave it means in total 9 days for me.
This trip was for 11 days in which there were 2 mandatory offs (25th Dec & 1st Jan). 12th day I was back in office :-)

PB's incident was very unfortunate and I hope he recovers soon and gets back to riding. Riding in Rajasthan on fast bikes is not an easy task. I hit a dog once and was barely able to hold on to the bike and very next day I almost hit a goat. No, I was not going fast but these situations are always there in RJ and there is nothing much you can do to be very honest.

WOT - What does this mean?
I have never got less than 20 kmpl and best mileage I got was 29 kmpl during run in. Now it is usually around 24-26 kmpl. Probably because I do gear shifts at 5K rpm and you can say that as of now I have not started to ride Ninja like a Ninja

RJ pics will start coming in from this Wednesday! As of now, lemme add pics of OUR bikes (Yours and Mine) in the next post.

                    Sachin, WOT= wide open throttle.
Somehow I do not feel that my bike is comfortable at anything below 6krpm. I shift up at 7k at the minimum beyond gears 3,4,5. Have been doing so from the start.
Recently, I was able to get about 26kmpl on a full tank, but this was mainly because it was mostly gentle riding on a gentle downhill route, with zero time at WOT, and minimal braking. Pretty boring though, it was just an experiment.
Glad you survived the dog and goat incidents, let me know if you are planning any weekend rides.
Please pickup the dirtsack from Mulund A2Z Motorcycle superstore, if you haven't already been there, call me, we'll go together.

Don't you think if we get the Fender Extender done successfully we will not need Radiator guard as eventually because the Fender is extended there is no way road debris and stone chips can hit the radiator damaging it.

Anyways, I am fine doing both the mods as there is no harm in doing both. I checked online today for Fender Extender and below are the images I could find. They basically mount to the back of the front fender with self adhesive and screws. I am still wondering how come the screws are hidden.
