appugodara bprags & other experts: Can you please confirm whether the recent slashing of excise duty will affect Kawasaki bikes too?? My dealer says he will check and let me know. Can anybody use the contacts and confirm? I am waiting for my beast

I strongly doubt that there will be any change in prices.. Coz it's excise duity slashed and not customs..
Bikes manufactured In India will see slight change in prices but I doubt that will pass too consumer.. Coz FM clearly said that he's giving some relief to auto companies..

Our bikes are CBU which means it's imported.. Imported goods falls under customs and there's no changes in customs duty..

So go get it..

I thought N650 is a CKD assembled in Bajaj Plant. your point is valid for a CBU, but for a CKD i doubt there could be some duty that Bajaj/Kawasaki might be paying to the Govt. though m not sure. Anybody can clarify the taxes involved in a CKD setup?

During last ride I felt issue with bikes side stand..it was difficult to park bike with luggage away from road on gravel or sand.. So searched on net n found that side stand shoe was the solution..
Again that was not available on any India's leading online bike stores so decided to make it my self..
Here's the result.. N I'm very happy

• Ride to Vaitarna Dam

Date:16th Mar'14
Route: Thane - Igatpuri - Vaitarna - Trimbakeshwar - Nashik - Thane
Distance: 330 kms

Offroading and Bad roads is where the action was this weekend. The ride was scenic and beautiful. I was about to take the mighty Ninja to terrains where I have never taken her before and boy did she excel there too. We were extremely cautious but at the same time determined to ride her in bad terrain. With good rubber, Angel ST & good brakes, Hel Lines and EBC Pads., I was able to manage the worst roads on my N650. This experience has made me even more confident of taking the bike to almost all places in India. I'm still learning to manage the weight and it will take sometime to tame her on bad roads. Time for some pictures.

It's fun and challenging to ride a motorcycle like this where it is not supposed to be taken... A test for the bike and more for the rider. Boy did we have a good time.

My friend says he is pretty comfortable with her, she is good and not that harsh although the seat is not the most comfortable one for long runs. Since the bike comes with a stiff set up, one has to be careful about the suspension link as it touches if you are not riding at slow speeds on bad roads. The engine has good low end grunt unlike the N250R so you need not keep the engine spinning while on low speed in tough spots.

From what I saw he was riding the 300 with such ease and comfort that I was getting scared to do the same on my N650. N300's light weight compared to 650 made it easy to take U - turns also in tight situations. P.S. He has done Mumbai - Ladakh - Mumbai on his N300 also including Zanskar so that says a lot about both the machine and the rider.

Some pictures of 300 since you mentioned about it

Sachin bhai ! Salute ! Respect !

I would like to add something on the same lines what @chaosaddict said ...

You are doing full justice to the bike and yourself by riding it CONSISTENTLY to places and accumulating those KMs on her.

Keep going my friend ! All the best !

I recall reading that the prices have dropped. Not sure by how much.
